About the Work

We're looking for experienced video editors to review and improve short-form and commercial video content.

You'll watch videos and assess how well they work from an editorial perspective — from the strength of the opening and pacing to the rhythm, sequencing, and overall flow. You'll document your reasoning clearly, pointing to specific moments and explaining what works, what doesn't, and why.

You'll also perform hands-on editing, making changes to cuts, pacing, sequencing, and other elements based on your editorial assessment.

Your written feedback and editing decisions will be used as part of an AI evaluation project, so we're looking for editors who can explain their creative and editorial decisions, not simply give a score.

What You'll Do:

  • Review short-form and commercial videos and assess their editing quality
  • Edit and refine videos based on your editorial assessment
  • Evaluate whether the opening or hook effectively captures attention
  • Assess pacing, cut density, rhythm, and overall flow
  • Identify issues such as unnecessary cuts, dead air, weak transitions, awkward sequencing, or an ineffective payoff
  • Explain your feedback clearly and reference specific moments in the video
  • Make editorial adjustments to improve pacing, sequencing, and overall viewing experience
  • Record your review/editing sessions as required for the project

What We're Looking For:

  • Professional experience in video editing, particularly short-form content, social media, commercial, advertising, agency, or brand work
  • Strong working knowledge of DaVinci Resolve, which will be the primary editing software
  • Strong understanding of pacing, storytelling, sequencing, and visual flow
  • Ability to explain why an edit works or doesn't work, both verbally and in writing
  • Fluent English, both spoken and written
  • Strong attention to detail and consistency when reviewing video content
  • A reel or portfolio demonstrating short-form editing work
  • Willingness to work on a part-time, hourly basis with flexible hours

Helpful but Not Required:

  • Motion graphics experience
  • Captioning/subtitling experience
  • Experience editing commercial or branded content
  • Experience working from client briefs and incorporating revision feedback

Engagement Details:

  • Hourly, contract-based engagement
  • Part-time and flexible hours
  • Ongoing project with potential for long-term work
  • Fully remote
  • Work involves editing, reviewing, and recording sessions using DaVinci Resolve
  • Only applicants who submit a relevant portfolio or reel will be considered for the next stage

Technical Requirements:

Because you'll be working in DaVinci Resolve and may record your editing/review sessions while working, you will need a computer and internet connection capable of handling both tasks reliably.

  • Stable fiber internet (PLDT Fiber, Converge, Globe Fiber, etc.)
    • 100 Mbps download / 50 Mbps upload recommended
  • Backup internet connection (mobile hotspot or secondary ISP)
    • At least 20 Mbps recommended
  • Computer capable of running DaVinci Resolve comfortably:
    • 16 GB RAM minimum; 32 GB preferred
    • Dedicated NVIDIA or AMD GPU with at least 6 GB VRAM; 8 GB+ preferred
    • Intel Core i5 / AMD Ryzen 5 or equivalent processor or better
    • 512 GB SSD minimum; 1 TB preferred
    • Sufficient available storage for video files, project files, and recorded sessions
  • Quiet, conducive home workspace suitable for focused editing and review sessions
  • Wired Ethernet connection preferred during work hours
  • Power backup/UPS recommended for locations that experience frequent power interruptions

How to Apply:

Please submit the following with your application:

  • Link to your portfolio showing relevant short-form, social media, commercial, or branded video editing work

Only applicants who provide a relevant portfolio will be considered for review.
