About the role:

As the SEO Manager (China Market), you will be responsible for driving Tickmill's organic growth strategy across Mainland China and Chinese-speaking audiences globally. You will develop and execute localized SEO initiatives tailored to the Chinese digital ecosystem, enhancing our visibility across leading search engines such as Baidu, Sogou, Shenma, and Qihoo 360, while leveraging platforms including WeChat, Zhihu, Toutiao, and Xiaohongshu to strengthen brand authority and generate qualified traffic.

Working closely with Marketing, Content, Development, Product, and Compliance teams, you will optimize website performance, improve organic rankings, identify new growth opportunities, and ensure all SEO activities align with local market requirements and industry regulations.

What does the role look like?

  • Develop and execute comprehensive SEO strategies tailored for Baidu and other major Chinese search engines to drive organic traffic growth and brand visibility.
  • Optimize website architecture, metadata, content structure, internal linking, and on-page elements in accordance with Chinese search engine ranking factors and best practices.
  • Conduct in-depth keyword research focused on Forex, CFDs, trading, and financial services to identify high-intent traffic opportunities.
  • Collaborate with developers to improve technical SEO performance, including site speed, mobile responsiveness, crawlability, indexing, and compliance with local web requirements.
  • Partner with the Content team to create and optimize localized educational, trading, and promotional content designed for Chinese-speaking audiences.
  • Build and maintain a high-quality backlink profile through outreach initiatives, financial portals, local media, industry directories, forums, and PR opportunities.
  • Leverage platforms such as WeChat, Zhihu, Toutiao, and Xiaohongshu to strengthen organic visibility, audience engagement, and brand authority.
  • Monitor SEO performance using tools such as Baidu Tongji, Baidu Webmaster Tools, Google Analytics, Ahrefs, Semrush, and other relevant platforms.
  • Conduct regular competitor analysis to identify market trends, benchmark performance, uncover traffic gaps, and recommend strategic improvements.
  • Stay up to date with changes in Chinese search engine algorithms, digital marketing trends, and Forex/CFD regulatory requirements to ensure all activities remain compliant and effective.
  • Prepare regular performance reports and provide actionable recommendations to stakeholders based on SEO insights and business objectives.
  • Work cross-functionally with Marketing, Product, Content, Development, and Compliance teams to continuously enhance the customer acquisition journey through organic channels.

What do you need to succeed in this role?

  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on SEO experience with a proven track record of managing successful campaigns targeting the Chinese market.
  • Strong experience within the Forex, CFD, Fintech, Crypto, Online Trading, or wider Financial Services industry.
  • Deep understanding of Chinese search engines, particularly Baidu, and familiarity with ranking algorithms and optimization best practices.
  • Strong expertise in keyword research, technical SEO, on-page optimization, content strategy, and link building.
  • Hands-on experience using Baidu Webmaster Tools, Baidu Tongji, Ahrefs, Semrush, Dragon Metrics, or similar SEO platforms.
  • Good understanding of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, website architecture, and search engine crawling and indexing processes.
  • Ability to analyse large datasets, identify business opportunities, and translate insights into actionable SEO strategies.
  • Experience working closely with developers, content creators, marketers, and other cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Native or bilingual proficiency in Simplified Chinese (written and spoken) and professional proficiency in English.


Will be considered as a plus:

  • Experience managing SEO strategies for regulated financial services brands targeting Chinese-speaking audiences.
  • Strong knowledge of ICP requirements, CDN optimization, and website localization best practices for Mainland China.
  • Experience optimizing content and visibility across WeChat, Zhihu, Xiaohongshu, Toutiao, or other Chinese ecosystem platforms.
  • Familiarity with Chinese financial regulations and compliance considerations related to Forex and CFD marketing activities.
  • Experience identifying and scaling alternative organic acquisition channels beyond traditional search engines.
  • Passion for digital marketing, innovation, and continuous learning within the SEO and trading industries.
