As a Crisis Helpline Responder, you’ll provide immediate, compassionate support to individuals experiencing distress or crisis. Your work will directly contribute to safety, stabilization, and connection to life-saving resources.
This is a remote, part-time role with flexible scheduling. Local language fluency is preferred, but all qualified, mission-aligned candidates are encouraged to apply.

You’ll serve as a lifeline for individuals facing suicide risk, self-harm, and acute emotional crises—making a real, immediate impact every shift.
Responsibilities
- Respond to crisis hotline calls with empathy and professionalism
- Provide evidence-based crisis counseling and de-escalation support
- Conduct risk assessments and arrange emergency services or referrals when required
- Maintain accurate and confidential call documentation
- Develop tailored crisis management and safety plans
- Ensure smooth handovers between shifts
- Dedicate each shift exclusively to Intellect crisis support services
Requirements
- 1–3 years of helpline experience (paid or volunteer)
- Proven ability to manage high-risk situations
- Emotional resilience and calm decision-making under pressure
- Fluency in Lao and English; additional languages are a plus
