Looking for Philippines-based candidates
Job Role: Senior BI Developer (Altryx and Tableau)
Compensation range: PHP 110,000–130,000 / Monthly
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.
Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.
Who The Client Is: The client is an Australian environmental waste management company. We operate across Australia and New Zealand and we treat our teams onshore and offshore like part of the family.
Role Overview:
You will drive the business’ advancement in the analytics environment, while supporting the General Manager, Head of Business Improvement, Head of Australian Operations, and the National Account Managers.
Using a data-driven approach, you will provide meaningful, actionable information that allows the organisation to demonstrate and add value to our customers through continuous improvement.
In practice, this means owning our Alteryx workflows and Tableau reporting end to end — building them, maintaining them, improving them, and pushing our reporting processes from about 90% automated to fully automated.
Our reporting output is currently a bottleneck on the growth of the Australian business, so this role has a direct and visible impact.
This is an autonomous role. You will be given projects and trusted to deliver them without daily follow-up.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and take responsibility for our analytics and visualisation systems, and the associated hardware requirements.
- Build, maintain, and continuously improve Alteryx workflows, including eliminating the remaining manual steps in our reporting processes.
- Develop customer-facing and internal operational reporting platforms in Tableau.
- Take responsibility for data storage and data lake development.
- Lead the business’ move into automation where relevant.
- Partner with key stakeholders across the business to identify business problems for analysis and reporting.
- Develop and implement analysis and reporting to resolve business problems and meet our contract KPIs, for example:
- Customer behaviour prediction
- Market analytics
- Environmental reporting
- Actively identify process improvements and recommend the actions needed to promote a continuous improvement culture.
- Transform scoping documents into visualisations, maintaining consistency across all deliverables.
- Provide user training sessions and facilitate onboarding activities.
- Manage multiple projects at once and keep track of a high volume of tasks.
Requirements
- 3–5 years’ hands-on experience in a business intelligence, analytics, or reporting development role.
- Demonstrated practical experience with Alteryx.
- Demonstrated practical experience with Tableau.
- Strong Python and SQL skills.
- Exceptional Microsoft Excel skills, including macros.
- Exceptional skills in ETL tools and analytics platforms.
- A report development background, with examples of reporting you have built and maintained.
- Excellent written English and comprehension — this role works closely with the Australian team.
- The ability to work independently, manage your own workload, and deliver projects to deadline without close supervision.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- A reliable internet connection, with a backup option available.
Desirable
- Experience with Power BI and Postgres.
- High-level knowledge of Microsoft Office, Gmail, Dropbox, and other cloud-based systems.
- Formal study in data analytics, computer science, or a related field.
- Experience using AI tools to support coding and workflow development, and the technical depth to diagnose and fix what those tools get wrong.
What We Offer
- PHP 110,000–130,000 per month, depending on experience.
- Independent contractor agreement, renewed annually, with a review at each renewal.
- A supportive, family-run culture with a local team leader in the Philippines and regular one-on-ones with the directors.
- Genuine ownership of a function that matters to the business, with room to shape how it develops..
Work Arrangement & Expectations:
This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.
To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:
- Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
- Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
