Looking for Philippines-based candidates

Job Role: Creative Director (Paid Ads Specialist)

Compensation range: $2,500 - $5,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU/AEST business hours (approx. 9:00AM - 6:00 PM, Monday to Friday) strictly for collaboration.
Target Start Date: ASAP (2-4 weeks)

Who We Are:

At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is:

Our client is a marketing agency running paid acquisition across a small portfolio of in-house offers. The primary account is a high-ticket trading education company built around a personality brand, selling through webinar funnels, VSL funnels and book-a-call funnels. This is direct-response, high-ticket online marketing — the successful candidate needs to come from this world, not adjacent to it.

Role Overview

A hands-on senior creative who owns the ideation, the copy and the briefing behind our paid ads — not the production itself. The media buyer feeds the numbers; this person turns them into concepts, writes the copy and scripts, briefs the creative team, and manages the communication with the team members responsible for completing each project. Copywriting is the core craft of this role — essential, not optional.

The work is video-led, and the focus is hook-driven, direct-response promotional ads that sell a webinar, a live event, or whichever offer is currently live — rather than UGC or long-form VSL content — plus static/photo ads and landing page copy. They do not need to edit, design or produce (that sits with the in-house team); they do need to direct editors and the photo/video team confidently from concept through to a finished ad. The role starts as a senior individual contributor with a clear path to leading the creative team as it grows.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own creative strategy for paid ads: concepts, angles and hooks for Meta and YouTube, grounded in performance data and a real understanding of the offer.
  • Write the copy: ad copy, video ad scripts, static/photo ad concepts and landing pages. Hands-on writing, every week.
  • Script promotional video ads: hook-driven, direct-response video that sells webinars, live events and live offers — this, rather than UGC or VSL production, is the day-to-day focus.
  • Brief and direct the creative team: turn concepts into clear, executable briefs for video editors and the photo/video team, and own the communication and feedback loop through to a shipped ad — execution sits with the team.
  • Work from the data: partner with the media buyer on what is winning and why, and feed those insights straight back into new creative.
  • Use AI fluently: image generation, AI-assisted drafting and AI video tools as part of the everyday workflow.
  • Stay compliant: keep all creative within platform policies and the compliance constraints of the financial-education vertical (e.g. no income guarantees).
  • Ship reliably: quality-led output, with agreed creative delivered on schedule.

5.  What Success Looks Like

  • Creative win rate climbing — a growing share of new tests beating control.
  • Strong hook rates, thumbstop and CTR across new creative.
  • Agreed creative shipped on schedule, every time.
  • The media buyer is never short of fresh, data-informed creative to test.
  • Ready to step up and lead the creative team as it grows.

Requirements

6.  Must-Have Requirements

  • 5+ years in direct-response creative and copywriting for paid social.
  • Exceptional copywriting and written English — the copy is theirs to write, not to delegate.
  • Track record withan account you have personally managed that was generating $500K+ in monthly revenue.
  • Experience working with personality brands / founder-led offers.
  • Well versed in the Australian market — has created ads for Australian audiences. This is a deal-breaker.
  • Video-led portfolio: has conceived, scripted and directed video ads through to finished output.
  • Has worked inside a creative team — alongside other copywriters, video editors and photo/video crews — not a solo operator.
  • Fluent with AI tools across image generation, drafting and video.
  • Available full-time across AEST business hours.

7.  Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience in the trading, finance or investing niche.
  • Prior creative leadership or mentoring experience — relevant to the growth path.
  • VSL scripting experience — welcome, just not the day-to-day focus.
  • Landing-page testing / CRO sensibility beyond the copy itself.

8.  Candidate Submission Requirements

For each shortlisted candidate, please include:

  • Ad portfolio with performance numbers: spend levels, hook/CTR metrics or results where known, and the candidate’s specific role in the work.
  • Finished video ads the candidate personally conceived, scripted and directed through a team.
  • Copy and script samples: ad copy, video scripts and landing pages.
  • A short Loom-style video introduction from the candidate.

9.  Recommended Final Stage

Before an offer is made, we recommend a short paid creative test: the candidate receives a sample offer brief and returns three hooks, one 30–60 second video ad script and one static ad concept. This tests the exact job — thinking, writing and brief-ability.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
