Work Schedule: AEST business hours: 9 AM–5 PM, Monday to Friday
Compensation range: Up to PHP 130,000 / Monthly (before tax and deductions)

Who The Client Is: Our client is a well-established boutique accounting firm based in Sydney, Australia, providing specialist taxation, accounting, and advisory services to privately owned businesses, high-net-worth individuals, and family groups. Their work extends well beyond standard compliance, with a strong focus on complex business structures, strategic tax planning, and long-term client relationships.
The firm operates in a fully cloud-based environment and values initiative, autonomy, and long-term working relationships. Several existing team members are based in the Philippines and have been with the firm for many years.
Role Overview: We're looking for a Junior Accountant with Australian public practice experience to join our growing team.
In this role, you'll support a portfolio of Australian business clients by managing day-to-day accounting and compliance tasks, including bookkeeping, payroll, BAS and IAS preparation, financial reporting, and tax return preparation. You'll work closely with senior accountants and directors to ensure clients receive accurate, timely, and high-quality accounting services.
This role is ideal for someone who is confident in managing their own workload, enjoys working across multiple clients, and has solid Australian business tax experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare company and individual income tax returns.
- Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS) and Instalment Activity Statements (IAS).
- Perform bookkeeping and bank reconciliations for multiple Australian clients.
- Process payroll and ensure compliance with Australian payroll requirements.
- Prepare working papers and supporting documentation for financial statements.
- Maintain accurate financial records using cloud-based accounting software.
- Assist senior accountants with month-end and year-end compliance activities.
- Communicate professionally with internal team members to ensure timely completion of client work.
- Manage multiple client files while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high standard of accuracy.
Requirements
- Minimum 3 years' experience in an Australian public practice accounting firm.
- Strong experience preparing company and individual tax returns.
- Experience preparing BAS, IAS, bookkeeping, payroll, and financial statements.
- Proficiency in Xero across multiple client files.
- Experience using Active Work Papers or similar workpaper software is highly regarded.
- Familiarity with Carbon or similar practice management software is an advantage.
- Good understanding of Australian taxation and accounting principles.
- Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities in a remote environment.
