Job Role: Irrigation Designer

Work Schedule: AU business hours ( 8 AM - 5 PM, Mon to Fri - 1hr Lunch)
Adelaide time (ACST), with a 1-hour adjustment during daylight saving periods.

Compensation range: $2,000 - $2,500 AUD / Monthly (before tax and deductions)

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be formally employed through an Employer of Record (EOR) arrangement. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote, so you’ll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: An irrigation design and supply business delivering tailored irrigation solutions across a range of residential, commercial, and recreational environments. Our expertise covers everything from private residential landscapes to large-scale commercial developments, sports turf, golf courses, and council-managed reserves and streetscapes.

Role Overview: An experienced irrigation designer to join our design team full-time and remotely, working with our Adelaide-based team.

The role covers producing irrigation design drawings and documentation in AutoCAD/IrrigationFX/Irrisketch, consistent with our design style, and administering projects and CRM records in our business software. It suits someone who works independently to deadlines, communicates clearly in writing and on Microsoft Teams calls, and takes ownership of both design output and the admin that supports it.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Produce and edit irrigation design drawings in AutoCAD/IrrigationFX to our standards
  • Develop system layouts and hydraulic designs, and select appropriate products for each design
  • Size tanks and pumps (e.g. Grundfos) to suit system requirements
  • Prepare supporting documentation, including bills of materials and product schedules (where required)
  • Administer our CRM, projects and timesheet records in our business software — maintaining opportunities, projects and tasks, and keeping data accurate
  • Interpret written briefs, markups and design instructions from the Client/Adelaide team
  • Communicate progress clearly and meet deadlines with minimal supervision

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience as an irrigation designer, with a solid understanding of design principles, hydraulics and system layout
  • Sound product knowledge of major irrigation brands (e.g. Hunter, Rain Bird, Toro, Netafim), including selecting appropriate products and equivalents
  • AutoCAD proficiency — confident producing and editing drawings independently
  • Microsoft Product proficiency
  • Strong written and spoken English — clear communication in writing and on Microsoft Teams calls, and the ability to interpret written briefs and markups
  • Competence administering projects and records in a CRM and project management system
  • Well-organised and self-managing, able to work to deadlines remotely with minimal supervision
  • Reliable internet connection and a suitable home-office setup including hardware required for the role (only software licenses will be  provided by the employer)

Nice-to-Have Skills

  • Advanced experience in IrrigationFX (Especially data base setup)
  • Prior experience with Odoo (CRM and project modules)

Ideal Profile

  • A self-directed, experienced irrigation designer who combines strong technical design skills with genuine administrative discipline — someone who takes pride in accurate drawings and well-maintained project records.
  • Work confidently on their own, communicate clearly in writing and on calls across a time difference, and can be trusted to keep work moving without close supervision.
  • Comfortable learning new tools like Odoo, and motivated to be a dependable, long-term part of our high-output design team.

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up via an Employer of Record (EOR) service.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Not be engaged with design services for any other Australian Business
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (Not Expected)
