Job Role: Virtual Assistant
Compensation range: $1,600 AUD - $1,800 AUD / Monthly
Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement
Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.
Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.
Who The Client Is: Our client is a specialised project delivery firm operating within the utility‑scale renewable energy sector across Australia and New Zealand. They deliver end‑to‑end engineering, project management, procurement, and construction supervision services specifically for large‑scale solar photovoltaic (PV) and battery energy storage (BESS) projects. With a team experienced in steering complex infrastructure projects from concept through to operational handover, they focus on quality, reliability, and collaborative partnerships to help drive the clean energy transition in the region.
Role Overview: Our client is seeking a proactive and highly versatile Virtual Assistant to provide key finance, bookkeeping, administrative, and project coordination support. This role is ideal for someone who can confidently manage a variety of responsibilities, from invoice preparation, payroll support, and Xero reconciliations to employee onboarding and coordinating technical projects. The successful candidate will bring strong attention to detail, initiative, and technical capability, while adapting quickly to the needs of a growing and dynamic business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including invoicing, payroll support, and Xero expense reconciliation
- Support employee onboarding and ensure a smooth experience for new team members
- Coordinate technical projects by tracking tasks, timelines, and deliverables
- Keep projects organised and follow up on outstanding actions to help keep things moving
- Provide efficient administrative support across the client’s day-to-day operations
- Use AI tools such as Claude Cowork and Claude Code to streamline tasks and improve workflows
- Take initiative in identifying ways to make processes more efficient and effective
Requirements
- At least 3 years of experience as a Virtual Assistant, preferably within the engineering services industry.
- Experience in bookkeeping, invoicing, payroll, and expense reconciliation.
- Experience with Xero or similar accounting software, particularly for expense reconciliation.
- Experience in employee onboarding, technical project coordination, and administrative support
- Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
- Proactive, resourceful, and able to work independently
- Comfortable using technical tools and learning new systems
- Experience with Claude Cowork, Claude Code, or similar AI tools is a strong advantage
