The listing

We're looking for a Senior Accountant to own the day-to-day accounting function and work directly with the Founder & CEO. This is a hands-on, full-cycle role: you'll stand up the standalone books, run monthly close, manage bill pay, and produce the reporting the CEO needs to run the business and support fundraising. Over time, this role will work alongside a fractional CFO who will join for higher-level financial strategy.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Establish and manage the company's standalone QuickBooks Online environment, migrating historical data and processes from NetSuite as the company separates from its parent company's systems.
  • Own full-cycle monthly close: journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and close checklists, delivering clean, timely financials.
  • Manage accounts payable end-to-end (bill pay, vendor and contractor payments) and support light accounts receivable for a small enterprise customer base.
  • Account for field hardware assets — devices in transit, live/deployed devices, and retired equipment — including tracking and depreciation.
  • Support subscription revenue recognition tied to device installation and go-live events, in coordination with the company's internal operations system.
  • Produce recurring financial reporting, including budget-to-actual tracking, to support the CEO's planning and decision-making.
  • Maintain clean, audit-ready books in preparation for an upcoming seed fundraising round.
  • Partner with the CEO and, as the company grows, a fractional CFO on ad hoc financial analysis and reporting needs.

Requirements

  • 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience, with strong command of US GAAP.
  • CPA preferred.
  • Hands-on experience with both QuickBooks and NetSuite; comfortable leading a migration between accounting systems.
  • Experience with SaaS or subscription revenue recognition; experience with hardware-plus-subscription or asset-based revenue models is a plus.
  • Full-cycle accounting experience: month-end close, AP/AR, reconciliations, and financial reporting, ideally in a small or early-stage company where you own the process end-to-end.
  • Comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a lean, fast-moving startup environment, working directly with company leadership.
  • Strong communicator who can flag issues, ask questions, and work independently across time zones.
