We are seeking self-motivated candidates based in Arizona who can effectively manage a home-based work environment while traveling throughout their assigned territory to oversee project progress, build strong customer relationships, and provide on-site support as needed.
TEi Construction Services (TEiC) provides outage, maintenance, and construction services to power generation facilities and industrial processing plants across the United States. For more than 20 years, TEiC has supported utilities and power producers during critical outages and complex turnarounds, delivering safe, high-quality execution while meeting demanding schedules and budgets. Our consistent performance has earned TEiC long-standing relationships with many of the nation’s leading power generation companies.
The Area Manager is the operational and commercial leader for a designated region supporting power generation and industrial processing maintenance projects. This role is responsible for developing customer relationships, leading estimating and proposal efforts, and overseeing project execution from opportunity identification through project completion. The Area Manager works closely with TEiC leadership, project teams, and customers to drive safe execution, operational performance, and continued growth within the region. This position reports to the Regional Director.
Customer Relationships & Business Development
- Develop and maintain relationships with utilities, plant operators, and industrial power generation customers within the assigned area.
- Identify upcoming maintenance opportunities and support TEiC’s regional growth strategy.
- Participate in RFQ evaluations and recommend bid / no-bid decisions.
Estimating & Proposal Development
- Prepare project estimates using TEiC estimating tools and templates.
- Review and approve estimates for projects within the area.
- Lead the transition from estimate to formal proposal through TEiC commercial processes.
Project Leadership
- Provide oversight of TEiC maintenance projects within the assigned region.
- Monitor project performance related to safety, schedule, cost, and quality.
- Identify project risks and implement corrective actions when needed.
- Provide project status updates and operational insights to senior leadership.
Team Leadership
- Mentor and support project leadership teams including Project Managers, Superintendents, and Field Engineers.
- Evaluate project leadership effectiveness and support continuous improvement across the area.
- Participate in staffing and leadership development decisions.
Operational & Commercial Reporting
- Ensure all operational, financial, and commercial reporting requirements are completed accurately and on schedule.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Experience supporting power generation maintenance projects.
- Strong background in estimating, project execution, and customer relationship management.
- Demonstrated understanding of project controls and project risk management practices.
- Technical knowledge of power plant systems and major power generation equipment.
- Proven ability to lead multiple projects and teams across a region.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced project environment.
- Strong communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Willingness and ability to travel to project sites as required.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in field engineering, project management, or related roles supporting industrial or power generation projects.
