Looking for Philippines-based candidates

Job Role: Estimator / Financial Coordinator

Compensation range: $2,000 AUD - $3,000 AUD / Monthly

Engagement type: Independent Contractor Agreement

Work Schedule: This role is expected to align with the AU business hours (approx. 8 AM - 4 PM, Monday to Friday) for collaboration, but as a contractor, you’ll have flexibility in how you manage your time.

Who We Are: At Hunt St, we help Australian companies hire top remote talent in the Philippines. For this role, you will be engaged directly by the client as an independent contractor. We are not an outsourcing agency. All of our roles are 100% remote so you'll be able to work from home.

Who The Client Is: Our client is a growing electrical  company based in Sydney, delivering high-end residential projects (around 60% of work) alongside commercial builds. The business works on everything from day-to-day electrical requirements and property upgrades to larger renovations, new builds and specialised installations.

Role Overview: We are looking for an Estimator / Financial Coordinator to take ownership of project estimating, day-to-day financial administration and business support. You’ll prepare estimates and quotes for residential and commercial projects, manage bookkeeping and invoicing, support builders and clients, and help improve workflows and efficiency through AI and other tools.

This is a hands-on opportunity for a proactive professional who wants to take initiative, grow the role and become a trusted right hand to the leadership team. The role combines estimating and back-end business support, giving you the opportunity to take ownership of pricing work upfront while helping keep the business organised, efficient and running smoothly behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities:

Estimating

  • Manage incoming tenders and job sheets from builders, running takeoffs and preparing high-level estimates
  • Use SimPro to manage quoting, including maintaining and applying "pre-builds" (labour, materials, and costs for standard job types) to speed up and standardise quotes
  • Flag outstanding questions or clarifications needed before a quote is finalised
  • Estimate across both high-end residential and commercial projects

Financial Coordination

  • Handle day-to-day bookkeeping tasks including reconciliations and invoicing
  • Support light scheduling and respond to client and builder emails
  • Liaise with the external accountant on broader accounting matters

Business Support & Optimisation

  • Be available by phone during Australian business hours to support technicians and the team with certificates, quotes, and general queries
  • Identify opportunities to improve workflows and reduce repetitive manual tasks using AI tools
  • Bring ideas and initiative to the role — this is an opportunity to shape responsibilities over time.

Requirements

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in Estimating and financial support roles.
  • Experience with SimPro is critical.
  • Estimating experience across residential and/or commercial construction is critical.
  • Familiarity with Ground Plan takeoff software is a bonus
  • Familiarity with Xero
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • A proactive, self-driven approach. Someone who looks to fill their time productively and grow their skill set
  • Strong availability and responsiveness during Australian business hours

Why Join Us

  • Work directly with business owners who value initiative and are willing to invest in the right person
  • Genuine scope to grow the role and take on more responsibility over time
  • Competitive pay reflecting the seniority and breadth of the role

Work Arrangement & Expectations:

This is a remote role that will be set up as an independent contractor engagement.

To ensure alignment and transparency, successful candidates will be expected to:

  • Disclose any existing ongoing roles or client work
  • Reflect this engagement on their LinkedIn profile (clearly marked as “Independent Contractor”)
