About the role
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring the quality of every release that goes out. Sporty isn’t like other organisations that just see QA as a blocker - we give our QA team members the power you need to do your job, including deciding what is ready for launch and what needs more work. You will be acting as a Hybrid QA Engineer with the skills you bring in on both Manual testing and automation processes. You will be involved at every step of the development process, from requirements capture and estimation, all the way through to final testing and launching. You must be based in the EU timezone to ensure collaboration with the rest of the team daily.

What you'll be doing
- Testing (black box, white box, integration, and performance) of the Web and Android / iOS platforms
- Track and record product issues and analyse the problems through various tools, giving feedback to relevant personnel to make corrections
- Write test plans / test cases and output test reports according to feature requirementsShare test-related information with other team members
- Simulate user needs and actual usage scenarios from a user perspective
- Actively participate in team discussions, challenge requirements, and acceptance criteria to ensure clarity and testability
- Create automated Web / Mobile / API test cases
- Track and analyse automated tests to improve test efficiency
- Develop automated tests and test frameworks
- Improve our Continuous Integration pipeline
- Help automate all aspects of the software engineering process
- Review designs and code done by others and provide constructive feedback
- Continuously develop your own skills
- Mentor less experienced members of the team
- Identify and execute on opportunities to improve or establish quality processes
What you'll bring
- 3+ years of testing experience
- Solid understanding of testing types: unit, integration, end-to-end, regression, stress/performance, and API testing
- Experience with Web / Android / iOS and API manual testing
- Experience with web debugging and API testing tools (Chrome DevTools, Postman)
- Working knowledge of relational databases preferably MySQL
- Strong experience with Python
- Experience with Automation testing knowledge with REST APIs
- Experience in test automation for mobile apps (Android and iOS)
- Experience in Automation testing for web apps (Selenium/ Playwright)
- Docker and Kubernetes experience would be advantageous
- Experience in developing and running a Continuous Integration system
- Familiarity with Jira / Jenkins would be advantageous
Even better if you have
- Working knowledge of NoSQL databases, preferably MongoDB
- BS / MS in Computer Science, Information Systems, Electrical Engineering
