The listing
Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced SAP ABAP Developer with strong experience in the Energy/Utilities domain to support an SAP implementation project. The consultant will be responsible for designing, developing, enhancing, testing, and supporting SAP ABAP solutions across utilities business processes.
Experience with SAP IS-U / S/4HANA Utilities and utility-specific processes such as Meter-to-Cash, Device Management, Billing, Invoicing, and FICA is highly preferred.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement SAP ABAP solutions based on functional and technical requirements.
- Work on RICEF/WRICEF objects including Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms, and Workflows.
- Develop and maintain custom reports, interfaces, user exits, BAdIs, enhancement points, and function modules.
- Work closely with SAP Functional Consultants and business teams to understand requirements and provide technical solutions.
- Develop integrations using IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, Web Services, APIs, and OData.
- Perform ABAP debugging, performance tuning, code optimization, and issue resolution.
- Participate in unit testing, integration testing, UAT, defect resolution, and production deployment.
- Prepare technical specifications and development documentation.
- Support data migration and conversion activities during the implementation.
- Follow SAP development standards, naming conventions, and coding best practices.
- Participate in code reviews and collaborate with offshore/onshore teams during U.S. business hours.

- Good understanding of SAP data structures, tables, and technical architecture.
- Experience working in SAP implementation projects, preferably full lifecycle.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
Utilities / Energy Domain Experience
Must have or strongly preferred:
- Experience working in the Energy / Utilities industry.
- SAP IS-U / S/4HANA Utilities experience.
- Knowledge of Meter-to-Cash (M2C) processes.
- Experience with one or more:

- Billing & Invoicing
- FICA / Contract Accounts
- Customer Service
- Energy Data Management (EDM)
- Utilities Master Data
- Metering / Point of Delivery
