The listing

GoGlobal is establishing an in-house UK corporate tax and VAT capability to support a growing portfolio of clients. The role combines hands-on tax compliance delivery with technical support to the business-development process.

The postholder prepares and reviews UK Corporation Tax and VAT returns and files them with HMRC to deadline, while maintaining the supporting accounting records. In addition, the postholder provides technical tax input to the sales process, including scoping client requirements, estimating effort and supporting proposals and pricing, and advises clients across corporate tax and VAT.

The role sits within the Accounting, Tax & Payments function and reports to the Regional Product Owner (EMEA). Two positions are available, at Senior and Junior level, to provide cover, resilience and a route for progression. The working language is English and no additional language is required, giving access to a broad candidate pool from UK practice and industry.

GoGlobal acts as its clients’ UK tax agent, and is registered with HMRC and supervised for anti-money-laundering purposes in accordance with HMRC’s Standard for Agents. The postholder operates within this framework.

Roles & Responsibilities

Corporate Tax Compliance

•     Prepare and review UK Corporation Tax returns (CT600) and computations, including iXBRL tagging, and file them with HMRC to deadline.

•     Address capital allowances, tax adjustments to the accounts, loss and group relief, and Research & Development claims where relevant.

•     Manage Corporation Tax payment deadlines, including Quarterly Instalment Payments for larger companies.

VAT Compliance

•     Prepare and review VAT returns under Making Tax Digital (MTD) and file them with HMRC to deadline.

•     Manage VAT registrations and de-registrations, and advise on schemes and treatments, including flat-rate, partial exemption, and place-of-supply and cross-border matters.

•     Manage VAT deadlines, payments and reconciliations across the client portfolio.

Accounting and Statutory

•     Prepare and review statutory accounts under UK GAAP (FRS 102 / FRS 105) and management accounts in support of the tax work.

•     Support Companies House filings, including annual accounts and the confirmation statement, and maintain statutory records.

Business Development Support

•     Provide technical tax input to the sales process, including scoping client requirements, estimating effort and supporting proposals and pricing.

•     Represent the tax function in client and prospective-client meetings, presenting GoGlobal’s UK capability accurately and credibly.

•     Identify opportunities to extend GoGlobal services (entity management, payroll, accounting and Employer of Record) within the client portfolio.

•     Contribute to service documentation, scoping templates and technical guidance for UK tax.

Client Relationship and Advisory

•     Manage the relationships within an assigned client portfolio and provide proactive, practical UK tax and accounting advice.

•     Resolve client queries and issues promptly, and communicate technical matters clearly and commercially.

HMRC, Controls and Quality

•     Manage HMRC correspondence, agent authorisations (form 64-8), enquiries and filing calendars.

•     Apply four-eyes review, GoGlobal internal controls and data-protection standards, and operate within anti-money-laundering requirements and HMRC’s Standard for Agents.

Key Performance Indicators

•     Corporation Tax, VAT and statutory-accounts filings completed accurately and on time, with no missed HMRC or Companies House deadlines.

•     Contribution to business development, measured through proposals supported and new or extended work won.

•     Client satisfaction and retention across the portfolio.

•     Turnaround times and quality of work, including levels of rework.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

•     Qualified in UK corporate tax and VAT: ATT (Association of Taxation Technicians), or qualified by experience in corporate tax and VAT compliance.

•     No statutory licence is required in the United Kingdom to prepare or file Corporation Tax or VAT returns. A chartered-accountant qualification (ACA or ACCA) or CPA is not required, as this is a tax role rather than an audit role.

•     CTA (Chartered Tax Adviser) is desirable, particularly for the Senior position. Candidates for the Junior position may be ATT-qualified or part-qualified and studying.

•     GoGlobal provides the anti-money-laundering supervision and HMRC agent registration; the postholder is expected to meet fit-and-proper standards and to work within HMRC’s Standard for Agents.

Core Requirements

•     Practical working knowledge of UK Corporation Tax (CT600, computations and iXBRL) and VAT (MTD), together with UK GAAP (FRS 102 / FRS 105).

•     Familiarity with HMRC online services, Making Tax Digital and Companies House filings, and competence with tax and accounting software (for example Alphatax, Digita, CCH, TaxCalc, Xero or Sage).

•     Commercial awareness and a client-facing manner, with the confidence to support business development through scoping, pricing and client meetings.

•     Strong written and spoken English, and a well-organised, accurate and deadline-driven approach.

•     The right to work in the United Kingdom.

Preferred

•     Experience in practice (an accountancy or tax firm) managing a portfolio of clients, ideally including international or foreign-owned entities.

•     Exposure to payroll and PAYE, Research & Development relief, or cross-border and international tax.

•     Experience contributing to proposals, pricing or business development, and with cloud accounting software such as Xero.

Who Thrives in This Role

•     Technically strong tax professionals who are also commercially minded and comfortable supporting business development.

•     Client-facing advisers who enjoy variety across corporate tax, VAT and accounting, and managing a growing portfolio.

•     Clear communicators who can make technical matters simple and useful for clients.

Benefits

As a privately owned company, we are free from the pressures of venture capital or private equity investors demanding exponential growth in unreasonable time frames.

Sometimes, things just take time to do well. In our business, delivering great results is a process - and we're committed to doing it right.

We are not for sale. We believe that financial success is a natural outcome of our work, not the primary goal. Unlike many investors who view money as a goal, our focus is on long-term growth and sustainable success.

We are a global team, built for those who want to go further. Here's what your career at GoGlobal looks like:

A company small enough for your voice to be heard meaningfully, yet large enough to make a global impact

Collaborating with a diverse, global and supportive team

Built for the long-haul - no VC or PE pressure, just a focus on sustainable growth

WHY WE ARE DIFFERENT

We Make Growing Your Career Possible

    • We operate with the benefits of a partnership without the complexities of a partnership. Our hybrid partnership-corporate model offers all employees the opportunity to become a partner, while maintaining a streamlined corporate structure so that decisions are made quickly.
    • We do not offer equity plans. As we are not for sale and are not chasing an exit, "stock options" hold little value in our business model. Instead, we provide opportunities for outstanding employees to make partner and share in the profits. We believe it's better to build lasting value than to chase a one-time payout.
    • We prioritize organic and sustainable growth. Expanding operations quickly by way of mergers and acquisitions might seem appealing, but the reality is integrating diverse cultures can be challenging. We're proud of our own culture and prefer to grow it our way.
    • We're global. We offer career opportunities across the world-whether it's new job roles or international locations
    • English is our official language, but for many, it's our second language. We embrace this and find it rewarding communicating with colleagues from all over the world.
    • We are not a family. We operate more like a high-performing sports team where each individual's contribution is crucial to our collective success.
    • We keep things simple and collaborative. Our structure makes it easy for teams to work together across borders so we can serve our clients with global needs more effectively. Unlike big, siloed companies, we work seamlessly to handle international deals without the headaches of territorial ownership.
    • We believe in transparency and trust. Every month, we share our financials with the team so everyone knows where we stand and what's coming next. It's all about open communication, building trust and empowering every individual to be part of our journey. We don't tell you what to think - we provide the information you need to make your own informed decisions.
    • We believe flexibility drives success. Our company is built on trust, and that's why we embrace fully remote work, and hybrid options in some countries. Forget rigid office routines - it's old school! This flexibility fuels productivity, strengthens our workforce, and ensures we remain agile in a fast-changing world.
