The listing
Solvd Inc. is a rapidly growing AI-native consulting and technology services firm delivering enterprise transformation across cloud, data, software engineering, and artificial intelligence. We work with industry-leading organizations to design, build, and operationalize technology solutions that drive measurable business outcomes.
Following the acquisition of Tooploox, a premier AI and product development company, Solvd now offers true end-to-end delivery—from strategic advisory and solution design to custom AI development and enterprise-scale implementation. Our capability centers combine deep technical expertise, proven delivery methodologies, and sector-specific knowledge to address complex business challenges quickly and effectively.
We are looking for a Video & Streaming Engineer to join a greenfield digital news platform build for a major international news brand. Video is not a feature here — it is the product. The platform is built around an always-on livestream, automated broadcast clip ingestion, and a player architecture that needs to perform reliably under the extreme traffic conditions of breaking-news events.
You'll own the video and streaming layer end-to-end: platform integration, adaptive playback, livestream workflows, newsroom clipping tools, advertising, analytics, and resilience testing ahead of launch.
What you'll do
Own video, livestream, and player technical implementation across the platform.
Integrate the selected video platform and player with the broader content and delivery architecture.
Implement adaptive bitrate streaming and device-aware playback across web and mobile environments.
Support livestream and breaking-news streaming workflows — including failover and resilience requirements.
Implement clipping and newsroom video-processing capabilities for broadcast clip ingestion and editorial use.
Integrate captions, subtitles, thumbnails, and poster frames.
Support rights management, availability-window controls, and geoblocking requirements.
Integrate video advertising and analytics capabilities.
Implement playback telemetry, error handling, and fallback logic.
Support load testing, resilience validation, and major-event readiness testing ahead of launch.
Basic qualifications
Hands-on experience integrating and configuring enterprise video platforms — Brightcove, JW Player, Mux, THEOplayer, or similar.
Strong understanding of adaptive bitrate streaming — HLS, DASH — and device-aware playback implementation.
Experience implementing livestream workflows in a production environment.
Familiarity with video processing concepts — clipping, transcoding, thumbnail generation, caption and subtitle integration.
Experience integrating video advertising — VAST, VPAID, or similar — and video analytics.
Ability to implement playback telemetry, error detection, and fallback handling.
Experience supporting performance and resilience testing for high-traffic video delivery scenarios.
Strong collaboration skills — able to work across CMS, frontend, and infrastructure teams.
Preferred qualifications
Experience delivering video infrastructure for news, media, or broadcast organizations.
Familiarity with rights management, availability windows, and geoblocking implementation.
Experience with CDN configuration for video delivery at scale.
Background working on platforms designed for major-event traffic spikes.
Familiarity with DRM implementation — Widevine, FairPlay, PlayReady.
Experience with poster frame, chapter marker, and structured metadata workflows for editorial video.
When you join Solvd, you'll…
