The Email Marketing Specialist will build, execute, optimize, and analyze email marketing campaigns that support customer engagement and business growth.
This role is responsible for campaign setup, email production, segmentation, testing, reporting, and ongoing optimization. The Email Marketing Specialist will create email content, build templates, manage audiences, build campaigns, implement tracking, and use performance insights to improve future campaigns.
Key Responsibilities
Email Campaign Management & Execution
Build, schedule, and manage email marketing campaigns from start to finish.
Create and maintain email templates for recurring campaigns and marketing initiatives.
Set up campaigns within email service providers (ESPs).
Manage campaign workflows, timelines, approvals, and execution.
Ensure emails are delivered accurately and on schedule.
Email Content Creation & Production
Make simple design edits and formatting adjustments within email templates using Chamaileon.
Build HTML emails.
Ensure emails are visually consistent, clear, and optimized for engagement.
Collaborate with marketing teams on messaging, offers, and campaign direction.
Quality Assurance & Testing
Perform QA checks before every email deployment.
Review formatting, links, images, personalization, mobile responsiveness, tracking accuracy, and handlebars logic.
Test emails across different devices and email clients.
Identify and resolve issues before campaigns are sent.
Segmentation & Audience Management
Build and manage audience segments based on customer behavior, engagement, demographics, and campaign objectives.
Maintain clean and organized email lists.
Support personalization strategies to improve engagement and conversions.
Monitor list health and identify opportunities for improvement.
A/B Testing & Optimization
Support and execute A/B tests across email campaigns.
Test subject lines, copy, calls-to-action, images, send timing, and audience segments.
Analyze results and apply learnings to improve future campaigns.
Continuously optimize email performance based on data.
Analytics, Tracking & Reporting
Monitor open rates, click-through rates, conversion rates, engagement trends, and campaign revenue or lead impact.
Build and implement UTM tracking to measure campaign performance.
Create performance reports and provide insights for improvement.
Use data to recommend campaign optimizations.
AI-Powered Marketing Optimization
Leverage AI tools to improve email marketing workflows and efficiency.
Use AI for content optimization, campaign analysis, testing ideas, and workflow improvements.
Identify opportunities to automate repetitive marketing tasks.
Stay current with AI-enabled marketing tools and best practices.
Qualifications
Experience
2–5 years of experience in email marketing, lifecycle marketing, marketing automation, or a related role.
Experience managing email campaigns from implementation through reporting.
Hands-on experience with email service providers such as Iterable, HubSpot, Mailchimp, Klaviyo, or similar platforms.
Experience with email compliance standards is a plus.
Experience working with lifecycle marketing strategies is a plus.
Familiarity with advanced automation workflows is a plus.
Skills
Experience building and managing email campaigns.
Basic understanding of HTML for email building, customization, and troubleshooting.
Experience working with email templates, segmentation, UTM tracking, campaign analytics, and marketing automation workflows.
Ability to make simple email design edits without creating designs from scratch.
Understanding of email compliance best practices and regulations.
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously.
Experience using project management tools such as Jira to manage timelines and workflows.
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines.
Data-driven approach to improving campaign performance.
Interest in AI and new marketing technologies.
