About the Role
OpenLoop’s mission is to bring care anywhere by powering telehealth solutions at scale. OpenLoop is looking for a Senior Accountant to join our team remotely or at HQ in Des Moines, IA. In this role, you will work closely with the Controller and other members of the Accounting team in all aspects of finance and accounting functions. This role offers a balance of core GL ownership and specialized technical accounting exposure across complex areas like revenue recognition, leases, and M&A where you will operate in a fast-paced environment with a high degree of ownership.
What You'll Do
Perform day to day accounting duties in AP, AR, cash management, payroll, FA, the GL and other duties as assigned.
Assist with the monthly close process by posting monthly journal entries, performing account reconciliations and ad-hoc financial analysis.
Analyze and research proper accounting treatments for transactions, complex contracts, and specialized areas including ASC 606, ASC 842, ASC 718, and ASC 805.
Manage complex schedules and compliance updates related to lease accounting and inventory accounting models.
Interface with external accountants during audits.
Assist in maintaining regular contact and building solid working relationships with various groups to ensure a high level of customer service and work product.
Assist on projects and ad hoc assignments as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Who You Are
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field
4-6 years of progressive accounting/finance experience; ideally a public accounting/private industry mix
Direct hands-on experience in the application of ASC 606 (Revenue), ASC 842 (Leases), ASC 718 (Stock-Based Compensation), and ASC 805 (Business Combinations)
Excellent knowledge of GAAP
Demonstrated ability to manage month-end close schedules and complex account reconciliations independently
Prior experience working on M&A accounting, business combinations, or technical accounting implementation projects (e.g. purchase price allocation, valuation).
Advanced Microsoft Excel skills (v-lookup, pivot tables, etc.)
Must be trustworthy and confidential
Must have excellent communication skills and ability to present to senior management
Precision/detail oriented with strong analytical skills
Proven ability to identify and drive process/system improvements
Ability to navigate ambiguity, prioritize competing tasks, and operate effectively in a scaling startup or high-growth company setting
Preferred Qualifications
Industry exposure within Tech, Software, Healthtech, or Manufacturing/Inventory environments
CPA and/or MBA a plus
