We are looking for an experienced Temporary Traffic Management Plan (TMP) Designer to join the team remotely and take responsibility for preparing accurate and practical Traffic Management Plans, traffic management diagrams, Corridor Access Requests (CARs), permits, and supporting documentation for New Zealand projects. The role will involve collaborating with Operations teams, clients, STMS personnel, contractors, councils, and Road Controlling Authorities (RCAs) to ensure plans meet project requirements, safety standards, and approval requirements, while also reviewing project information, identifying risks or missing details, and coordinating amendments when necessary. This opportunity is well suited to a technically strong TMP professional with solid New Zealand traffic management planning experience who can work independently, manage multiple projects and deadlines, and consistently deliver clear, practical, and accurate plans for onsite implementation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and update Traffic Management Plans in line with NZGTTM principles, RCA requirements, and project specifications.

  • Work closely with Operations and STMS personnel to understand project requirements and provide planning support.
  • Liaise with clients, councils, RCAs, contractors, and other stakeholders regarding planning requirements.
  • Identify missing, unclear, or conflicting information and obtain clarification where required.
  • Update plans when project requirements, methodology, dates, or site conditions change.
  • Maintain accurate records of plan versions, submissions, amendments, approvals, and supporting documents.
  • Ensure approved plans are clear, practical, and easy for onsite teams to interpret and implement.
  • Escalate complex, unusual, or high-risk planning matters when additional technical input is required.
  • Manage multiple plans, applications, revisions, and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of planning processes, templates, and documentation.
