Responsibilities
Operate Canoe Intelligence to ingest, extract, and process alternative investment documents, including capital call notices, distribution notices, quarterly statements, and Schedule K-1 forms.
Review and validate data extracted through artificial intelligence, resolve exceptions, and confirm accuracy before updating downstream systems.
Maintain document routing rules, entity mappings, and fund data; monitor ingestion queues and service-level expectations; and coordinate with fund administrators and general partners to obtain missing documentation.
Reconcile alternative investment data between Canoe Intelligence and Orion Portfolio Solutions, investigating and resolving discrepancies in positions, transactions, and valuations.
Support performance reporting and data integrity reviews for alternative investments held in client accounts, partnering with advisors to ensure accurate client-facing information.
Partner with the advisory team to keep Salesforce customer relationship management records aligned with current client and investment relationships.
Use Microsoft Excel functions, pivot tables, conditional formatting, and data validation to organize, analyze, and verify operational data.
Develop documented procedures and improve workflows, spreadsheet tools, and operating standards in collaboration with investment operations, advisory, and technology teams.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business administration, or a related field.
One to three years of experience in investment operations, financial services, or a related function.
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency, familiarity with Orion Portfolio Solutions or a similar portfolio management and reporting system, and the willingness and ability to develop subject-matter expertise in Canoe Intelligence.
Preferred qualifications include experience with Canoe Intelligence or a comparable alternative investment data platform; Salesforce experience in a financial services environment; and familiarity with private equity, hedge funds, real estate, or private credit.
Skills
Analytical judgment and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving data discrepancies with limited oversight.
Strong organization, process discipline, and the ability to manage complex workflows and competing priorities.
Clear written and verbal communication, with a consistent commitment to accuracy, confidentiality, and professionalism.
Adaptability, accountability, and the ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across a distributed team.
