Your Role
The Manager, People Services will own the design and execution of compliant, scalable people operations and lead the employee relations function. Both areas require operational rigor, sound HR judgment, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
This role will ensure that people processes are not only efficient and well-documented, but also auditable, data-accurate, and compliant with employment law. The Manager, People Services will partner closely with People & Culture centers of excellence, including Talent Acquisition, HRIS, Total Rewards, and Learning & Organizational Development to operationalize strategy into consistent, high-quality execution.
Primary Functions of the Manager, Total Rewards Include:
- Own and continuously improve people processes across the full employee lifecycle, with a particular emphasis on pre-boarding and offboarding, to ensure consistency, compliance, and a positive experience.
- Own the centralized People Services inbox; triage, respond to, and resolve Tier 2 inquiries with accuracy and timeliness; escalate complex matters to People & Culture leadership as appropriate.
- Support annual people processes such as open enrollment support, performance cycle administration, compliance training cycles, in close partnership with relevant centers of excellence.
- Own contingent workforce operations, including onboarding and offboarding for contractors, consultants, and other non-employee workers, ensuring compliance with applicable policies and legal requirements.
- Partner with Learning & Organizational Development to ensure required compliance training is assigned, tracked, completed, and documented for all employees.
- Oversee how people data is entered, maintained, audited, and corrected across HRIS and connected systems to ensure accuracy and auditability.
- Partner with HRIS, Payroll, Benefits, and Total Rewards teams to resolve data discrepancies, conduct regular audits, identify root causes of inaccurate data, and implement corrective measures.
- Manage employment file processes to ensure completeness, adherence to retention standards, and audit readiness at all times.
- Ensure employment compliance in partnership with Legal & Compliance, staying current on applicable federal, state, and local employment law requirements.
- Own the employee handbook and related employment policies, including annual reviews and updates to reflect regulatory changes and organizational evolution.
- Provide reporting and analytics on people operations and employee relations trends; develop action plans to address systemic issues and inform leadership decisions.
- Own the employee relations function ensuring HR judgment, policy consistency, and legal alignment are applied at every stage.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for employee concerns and manager questions; conduct thorough, impartial case intake and investigations; advise managers on appropriate actions; and see matters through to timely, documented resolution.
- Create, maintain, and regularly review employee relations policies and processes to ensure they are current, compliant, and equitably applied.
- Partner with People & Culture centers of excellence to operationalize strategic priorities into consistent, scalable processes, serving as a consultative resource on operational feasibility and execution logistics.
- Develop, document, and annually review standard operating procedures, job aids, and process guides to ensure they remain accurate and aligned with current practice.
- Identify and lead opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual processes, and build scalability as the organization grows.
- Respond to team member questions related to policies, procedures, employment status, and people programs with a high standard of service and clear communication.
- Perform other related responsibilities as assigned.
How You Qualify

- 5+ years of experience in people operations, HR shared services, or HR administration
- Working knowledge of HR policies, employee relations fundamentals, leave of absence processes, and employment lifecycle operations
- Hands-on experience processing HR transactions and supporting data accuracy within an HRIS environment
- Experience processing HR transactions in Workday, such as hires, job changes, transfers, and terminations, preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage recurring, detail-oriented processes while balancing ad hoc requests and stakeholder needs
- Strong customer service mindset with experience responding to employee questions and resolving issues effectively
- Experience creating job aids, process documentation, and standard operating procedures
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work cross-functionally
The base pay range for this role is $115,800.00-$137,800.00. Compensation takes into account several factors including but not limited to a candidate’s experience, education, skills, licensure and certifications, and organizational needs. Base pay is just one piece of the total rewards program offered by Honest. Eligible roles also qualify for short-term incentives and a comprehensive benefits package.
