The listing
Want to make a difference in the lives of K–12 students and educators across the country?
Skill Struck helps schools teach computer science and AI through engaging, accessible curriculum and software, with a focus on equity in education.
We're looking for a part-time Business Development Representative (BDR) to help identify and qualify new business opportunities for our sales team. It's a flexible, remote role built around cold calling, so it's a great fit for someone who wants meaningful part-time work they can do from home. Candidate must reside in Utah.
Compensation
- $15 per hour
- $50 bonus for every meeting booked
What the Job Looks Like
- Spend ~10-15 hours per week (2-3 hours per day) cold calling prospects, pitching Skill Struck, and scheduling follow-up meetings for our Account Executives
- Prospects are primarily curriculum directors, instructional technology directors, and CTE directors at public school districts across the US
- You'll use your own cell phone, but we'll connect it to HubSpot so prospects won't see your personal number
- You'll get access to our HubSpot (CRM) with pre-built call lists ready to crank through
- Onboarding is short. We'll train you on the basics and expect you to learn quickly as you call
- You'll join a Slack channel where you can ask questions and get quick answers when you hit roadblocks
- You may occasionally be invited to internal meetings, but the default is to spend as close to 100% of your time as possible making calls
- Your initial goal is 10 meetings per month, or 2-3 per week
- Work from anywhere, as long as there's no background noise and you have reliable cell / internet access
Your Qualities
- Comfortable and confident on the phone with cold prospects
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Self-motivated and organized
- Growth mindset and problem-solver
- Desire to make an impact in the lives of underserved students
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- 1-2 years of sales experience, preferably B2B or EdTech
- Familiarity with CRM and sales engagement tools (e.g., HubSpot, Outreach, SalesLoft)
- Experience in K-12 Education Technology
