Position summary
The Principal Field Application Engineer serves as a senior technical authority and strategic partner for Entegris’ Microcontamination Control solutions. This role leads advanced customer engagements, drives technical innovation, and influences product development by providing deep expertise in gas purification, filtration, and airborne molecular contamination technologies. Acting as a global liaison, the Principal Engineer ensures alignment between customer requirements, business objectives, and technical solutions, while mentoring junior engineers and shaping best practices across regions.
Main responsibilities
- Serve as the primary technical advisor for key global accounts, identifying complex microcontamination challenges and delivering tailored solutions.
- Lead high-level technical reviews, customer workshops, and strategic discussions to position Entegris as a trusted partner.
- Collaborate with R&D, Product Management, and Marketing to influence product roadmaps based on emerging customer needs and industry trends.
- Develop and implement advanced application strategies to support new technology adoption and market penetration.
- Provide expert-level training and guidance to customers, sales teams, and internal stakeholders.
- Author and present technical papers at industry conferences to reinforce Entegris’ leadership in microcontamination control.
Additional responsibilities
- Mentor and coach Field Application Engineers to build technical depth and customer engagement skills.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to global best practice frameworks.
- Maintain comprehensive competitive intelligence and share insights with business units.
- Support special projects and cross-functional initiatives requiring advanced technical expertise.
- Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and corporate standards.

- Reports to: Senior Manager, Field Applications

Main internal and external stakeholders
- External: Strategic customers, industry partners, conference committees
- Internal: Global sales team, product management, R&D, Marketing, Quality
Educational and professional experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Materials Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Experience in field applications engineering or technical support within high-tech or semiconductor industries.
- Proven track record of leading complex technical engagements and influencing product development.
- Experience with gas microcontamination control technologies, including purification and filtration systems.
Skills and knowledge:
- Deep technical expertise in microcontamination control and related high-tech applications.
- Strong leadership and mentoring capabilities.
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills for technical and executive audiences.
- Advanced problem-solving and analytical skills with a strategic mindset.
- Ability to manage global projects and travel internationally as required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Compensation: The pay range for this role is $150,000-$190,000 USD with pay commensurate upon the candidate's experience.
