Senior Instructional Designer
Red Nucleus is seeking a Senior Instructional Designer to join our L&D team, with expertise in designing and developing engaging instructor-led and virtual workshop experiences. This individual will partner with clients, stakeholders, and subject matter experts to create learning solutions that drive knowledge, skill development, and behavior change.

Within our L&D team, we work with life sciences companies of all sizes, from those bringing their first product to market to the largest multinational firms. This role will primarily service clients in the oncology space, supporting sales reps, HCPs, MSLs, and other commercial roles.
About This Role
The Senior Instructional Designer role leads the design and writing of interactive, engaging, and creative learning solutions for life sciences industry professionals, across a number of modalities including live and virtual workshops.
This individual will translate client goals, objectives, and strategy into effective learning experiences for target learners. Every day is different and can range from performing curriculum
analyses and developing measurement strategies to designing specific deliverables that leverage blended approaches.
This position does not require original research of medical content but may use content written by a Medical Writer or client to create a new learning asset.
Specifically, this role will:
- Design and develop engaging, effective instructor-led and virtual workshop materials, including facilitator guides, participant guides, job aids, quick reference guides, learning activities, simulations, and assessments
- Lead instructional design discussions and reviews with clients and project teams to align learning solutions with business objectives
- Develop interactive learning strategies that incorporate adult learning principles, application exercises, case studies, and facilitated discussions
- Deliver and facilitate Train-the-Trainer sessions to prepare facilitators for successful workshop delivery
- Support business development efforts through participation in proposals, pitches, and learning strategy discussions
- Review and revise training materials created by others for instructional quality, learner engagement, and educational effectiveness
Requirements
- Undergraduate or graduate degree in education, instructional design, organizational development, or a related field; or equivalent experience
- Demonstrated experience in needs analysis, instructional design, curriculum development, learning measurement, and adult learning methodologies
- Experience designing live and virtual instructor-led workshops and learning experiences
- Ability to translate complex content into impactful learning experiences
- Comfortable with AI tools, MS Office, and virtual meeting platforms
- Exceptional verbal, written, presentation, and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple projects, priorities, and deadlines in a fast-paced client environment
- Strong collaboration, consulting, and stakeholder management skills
- Knowledge of and experience within the life sciences industry, such as
pharmaceutical, biotechnology, and/or medical device training
