The Role
As a Voyage Analyst on the Wayfinder Product team, you will turn voyage, vessel performance, and weather data into clear, reliable insights for our shipping customers. Your work will help customers evaluate performance against charter party terms, understand the impact of voyage optimization, and support performance claims with evidence.
Your primary focus will be delivering accurate, timely voyage performance reports, including charter party and good-weather analysis. Your second priority will be supporting customer claims with clear, evidence-based analysis. You will also contribute to reporting product development, drawing on your day-to-day reporting experience to identify improvements and help technical teams automate recurring workflows.
Candidates located in the following locations are eligible for this role: Philippines, Singapore, Denmark, Bulgaria, India. This position will require at least two hours of overlap with US Pacific working hours.
Impact You'll Own
Primary focus: Reporting delivery
Own final quality checks for customer-facing time charter and voyage performance reports, validating voyage details, source data, assumptions, and operational constraints.
Investigate discrepancies and work with customers and internal teams to resolve them before reports are delivered.
Translate customer-provided charter party terms and good-weather definitions into reporting criteria, and validate that reports reflect those criteria.
Partner with technical teams to develop tailored performance analyses using Sofar’s digital twin and weather data.
Secondary focus: Claims analysis and support
Prepare clear, evidence-based claim summaries, incorporating voyage performance analysis, weather assessments, and relevant case references where appropriate.
Work directly with customers to collect supporting evidence and explain findings, assumptions, and limitations.
Additional contribution: Reporting product development
Bring expertise in the evolving voyage reporting landscape, including the EU Emissions Trading System (EU ETS), FuelEU Maritime, and the Carbon Intensity Indicator (CII), and translate customer needs into reporting requirements.
Identify recurring reporting needs and manual bottlenecks, and partner with technical teams to develop features and automation that make reporting more reliable and scalable.
About You
3+ years of experience in maritime shipping analysis, voyage performance reporting, or a closely related role.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with attention to data quality, assumptions, and detail.
Expertise in charter party performance clauses, speed and consumption analysis and good weather definitions.
Interest in learning and using tools such as LLMs, Retool, Snowflake, and Notion to investigate data and improve reporting workflows.
A proactive, solutions-oriented approach: you take ownership, ask thoughtful questions, and adapt as priorities evolve.
Ability to collaborate across cultures and time zones, with teammates in the US, Denmark, Singapore, and India.
