About the role
The Senior Accountant oversees day-to-day accounting operations, including month-end close, financial reporting, and process improvement. This role safeguards general ledger integrity, reconciles balance sheet accounts, and supports timely, GAAP-compliant financial statements. The Senior Accountant also partners across teams on special projects, audit readiness, and scalable accounting workflows.
Your responsibilities
- Perform core month-end close responsibilities including preparing/posting journal entries, reviewing G/L activity, and reconciling designated balance sheet accounts.
- Manage accounts receivable: invoices, payment applications, and monitor aging.
- Partner with the manager to manage and refine complex revenue schedules.
- Manage daily cash operations, approving inter-account transfers and title company wire disbursements.
- Monitor and manage the company and Investor cash positions.
- Perform monthly bank reconciliations and daily cash reconciliations.
- Make recommendations to improve accounting department efficiency (workflows or software enhancements)
- Prepare and support the preparation of monthly financial statements, consolidations, and multi-entity reporting
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards including ASC 842 (leases) and ASC 606 (revenue recognition).
- Analyze investor contracts to ensure custodial accounting requirements are met.
About you
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting experience with strong general ledger ownership.
- Solid understanding of GAAP and financial statement preparation.
- Proven experience managing month-end close, journal entries, and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Advanced Excel skills, including pivot tables, lookups, and reconciliation of large datasets.
- Experience with NetSuite, FloQast (close management platform).Advanced Excel and Google Sheets skills
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities to meet deadlines.
- Experience supporting year-end audit and working with external auditors.
- Experience in high-growth or small-team environments.
Compensation at Point will be determined by skills, experience, and geographic location. Point has identified the expected annual base salary for this role at this level based on the market by tiers (Region | Location | Market Salary):
- Tier 1 | San Francisco Bay Area, New York, and Seattle | $114,000 - $126,000
- Tier 2 | Austin, Boston, Chicago, Denver, Los Angeles, Miami, Philadelphia, Portland, Sacramento, San Diego, Santa Barbara & Washington DC | $98,800 - $109,200
- Tier 3 | All other US metro areas | $90,250 - $99,750
This does not include any other potential components of the compensation package, including equity, benefits, and perks outlined above. At the launch of each position, we benchmark compensation to the appropriate role and level utilizing competitive compensation data from various data sources as references. At the offer stage, we use the signal we received from our interviews, coupled with your experience, location, and other job-related factors, to determine final compensation.
Location Requirement: This is a remote position. However, candidates must reside in one of Point’s states of operation: AL, AR, AZ, CA, CO, CT, DC, FL, GA, IL, KS, KY, MA, MD, ME, MI, MN, MO, NC, NH, NJ, NV, NY, OH, OR, PA, SC, TN, TX, UT, VA, WA, WI.
