About the Role

The search landscape is evolving rapidly. As AI-driven answers increasingly dominate top search results and user reliance on LLMs expands, search engines and AI platforms prioritize sites that deliver exceptional speed, robust structure, and high domain and topical authority. Consequently, a strong technical foundation plays a critical role in ensuring key web pages are efficiently crawled, accurately interpreted, ranked, and cited. In this environment, a solid technical foundation is essential—it determines whether a website's key pages are effectively crawled, understood, ranked, and referenced.

As a Senior Technical SEO Specialist at Motive, you'll be a core stakeholder in the technical health and structure of our web presence. You'll lead our technical SEO program end to end, from site health & architecture to international SEO and new page launches, as well as incorporate emerging technical AEO/GEO best practices into web structure. You'll also use AI-assisted workflows to find and prioritize the work that will have the most business impact. You'll partner closely with Web Strategy, Web Engineering, Content, Product Marketing, and Growth Marketing. You'll also work alongside teammates focused on content SEO and AI search, so that technical, content, and AI-search work reinforce each other.

What You'll Do

  • Lead execution for Motive's technical SEO program, conducting recurring audits covering crawlability, indexation, rendering, redirects, canonical tags, internal link structures, structured data, and page quality.
  • Use and help improve AI-assisted workflows that turn crawl and search performance data into a clear, prioritized list of fixes, with human judgment applied before anything ships.
  • Make sure priority pages can be accessed, understood, and cited by AI answer engines, covering AI crawler access rules, server-side rendering of key content, structured data, entity signals, and page structure that's easy to extract.
  • Identify and resolve content cannibalization and duplication, working with Content and Web to consolidate, redirect, or differentiate pages so each topic has one clear page that ranks.
  • Partner with Web Engineering to improve site errors, warnings, and performance issues on key pages & templates, with recommendations tied to impact on traffic and conversion.
  • Optimize high-intent product, solution, and industry pages so they rank and convert on non-brand searches.
  • Improve information architecture, navigation, and internal linking so our pages connect cleanly and capture long-tail demand.
  • Drive technical SEO across our international sites, including hreflang, regional sitemaps, canonical strategy, and localized templates. Partner with regional marketing teams and native-language reviewers so localized pages reflect how local buyers actually search.
  • Define technical SEO requirements for new templates, page types, and CMS capabilities, and provide SEO QA for launches, migrations, and redesigns.
  • Turn findings into clear, engineering-ready requirements that explain what's wrong, why it matters, and how to fix it.
  • Act as the primary technical SEO partner for web and marketing stakeholders, and help non-technical partners understand trade-offs and impact.

What We're Looking For

  • 5+ years of technical SEO experience, ideally in B2B SaaS or complex, multi-template environments.
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Deep expertise in crawling, indexation, JavaScript SEO, sitemaps, canonicals, redirects, hreflang, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, performance, and mobile UX.
  • Experience scaling information architecture across category, product, long-tail, international, and localized pages.
  • Knowledge of schema.org/JSON-LD implementation and validation, plus diagnosing keyword cannibalization at scale.
  • Proven partnership with web and engineering teams to deliver technical fixes and measure impact on traffic, leads, and pipeline.
  • Experience applying AI or agentic workflows to automate SEO audits and recommendations with appropriate human oversight.
  • Strong understanding of AEO, generative search, crawler access, structured data, page architecture, algorithm updates, AI search features, and evolving SEO measurement.
  • Strong analytical skills with large crawl and search datasets; proficiency in Google Search Console, Semrush, Screaming Frog, log analyzers, and web analytics.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
