The listing

First and most importantly: our mission is to bring transparency and clarity to the world's data.

Our platform, Voxel51, is where AI work happens. Our enterprise platform is the mission critical linchpin for managing unstructured data, model development, and AI systems at the world's largest companies.

We believe that open source is the way to lead the data-centric AI revolution. FiftyOne, our open source version of Voxel51 has 5 million downloads to-date.

Our software massively impacts AI work across almost every vertical: from self-driving cars to medical imaging to revolutionizing agriculture, we are at the thrilling center of real-world AI advancement’s next wave.

And we’re built on three key tenets:

  • We are all human beings: we strive to be a “human-first” organization and treat everyone with the respect, care, and flexibility that all people deserve.
  • We are distributed: we believe in getting autonomy and power into the hands of people actually doing the work.
  • We believe in the power of community.

We are fully remote, hiring for someone in the United States.

About Your Role
As a Robotics Developer Relations Engineer at Voxel51, you'll work directly in the Voxel51 community — answering technical questions, building integrations with robotics perception stacks, models, and datasets, creating engaging technical content, and helping organize and speak at events (in-person and virtual). This role is ideal for someone who has worked hands-on with robotic systems and wants to help the broader robotics ML community build.

What You Will Do
  • Technical Support: Provide technical answers to Voxel51 users on Slack, StackOverflow, and Reddit — including questions from robotics engineers working on real-world deployment challenges
  • Writing: Author original blogs, tutorials, and documentation at the intersection of robot learning and data infrastructure (VLAs, world models, sim-to-real pipelines)
  • Videos: Self-produce short videos for social media and long-format videos exploring technical topics relevant to robotics practitioners
  • Educational Content: Create and deliver original courses, both online and in-person, covering computer vision and ML topics for robotics applications
  • Integrations: Code integrations that combine FiftyOne with complementary technologies, models, and datasets used in robotics — including simulation environments, sensor data formats, and perception frameworks
  • Events: Help organize community events like Meetups and hackathons, and speak at in-person and virtual conferences/workshops focused on robotics and autonomous systems
Examples:
What You Should Bring
  • 3+ years of professional ML experience, with direct experience applying computer vision to robotics systems (e.g., perception, navigation, manipulation, or autonomous vehicles)
  • MS or PhD in computer science, robotics, or a related field, with an emphasis on computer vision
  • Hands-on experience with robotics-specific data types and tools — e.g., multimodal sensor streams like MCAP/LeRobot and simulators like Isaac Sim
  • Proficiency with Python
  • Expertise with machine learning and scientific computing libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, NumPy)
  • Great writing ability and proficiency with a screen recording/editing suite
  • Links to blogs, articles, or papers written — bonus for robotics-focused content
  • Links to conferences or events you have spoken at — bonus for robotics/autonomy-focused events (e.g., ICRA, IROS, CVPR workshops)
  • Links to open source communities where you are an active participant (robotics-related projects a plus)
  • Links to GitHub repos where your code is visible
  • Ability to work in a remote-first, cooperative environment using collaborative development tools (GitHub, Slack)
Compensation

The cash compensation for this role is in the $190K–$240K range. In addition to base compensation, we offer equity in the form of options, a variety of benefits, and the opportunity to grow in an exciting, collaborative environment.
