Beacon Biosignals is transforming precision medicine for the brain, from clinical development to clinical care. For Life Sciences partners, we offer the leading at-home EEG platform for clinical development of novel therapeutics for neurological, psychiatric, and sleep disorders. Our Diagnostics business is building the most comprehensive at-home platform for precision diagnostics, combining EEG and cardiopulmonary signals to deliver reimbursable assessments for sleep and central nervous system disorders. Together, we're changing the way patients are diagnosed and treated for any disorder that affects brain physiology.
What you will be doing:
Beacon Biosignals is looking for a Senior Product Manager to own the roadmap and day-to-day product decisions for our clinician- and site-facing web application, the primary way clinicians, clinical research sites, and trial teams interact with Beacon's machine-learning-enabled brain health platform. This role reports to the Manager, Web Applications.
In this role, you’ll work within Beacon's Web Apps team to drive major development milestones for the next generation of Beacon's web applications for clinicians and clinical sites. You’ll shape product direction in partnership with the team’s manager and turn it into quarterly plans your team can execute against. You’ll be a clear, credible voice for the product with external users and internal stakeholders such as Beacon’s clinical, scientific, regulatory, and commercial teams.
This is a remote position, with a preference for candidates based near Beacon HQ in Boston, or another Beacon hub (e.g., New York City).
What success looks like:
- Build deep knowledge of clinicians, sleep technicians, site coordinators, investigators, and sponsor teams, and use it to ensure the roadmap reflects their real needs and Beacon's business goals.
- Own a single product that serves both diagnostic and clinical trial workflows, identifying where needs overlap and diverge, and make clear, well-reasoned, documented decisions about shared versus specialized functionality.
- Ensure the web experience is coherent with the wider ecosystem it depends on, including devices, data pipelines, ML models, and other software products. Stay informed about what adjacent teams are building, surface dependencies and conflicts early, and drive convergence so that the pieces work together as a coherent experience for users.
- Create and evolve quarterly product roadmaps and clear requirements that your team can execute against, that shape the next generation of the web application.
- Work closely with software engineers, product designers, and data science and machine-learning teams to align on technical specifications and feasibility, and on how model outputs are presented to users.
- Practice continuous discovery, running formal and informal usability tests and user interviews early and often, with particular attention to the workflows of busy clinicians and site staff.
- Deliver product requirements and changes through formal design controls in a regulated environment, using contemporary tools (at Beacon, we use Ketryx!).
- Balance the needs of multiple customer types and internal stakeholders, including clinical operations, regulatory and quality, and commercial teams, and manage external client-facing demos that showcase the product's current capabilities and roadmap.
- Communicate project progress, decision-making tradeoffs, and risks with key stakeholders effectively, often, and efficiently.
What you will bring:
- 5+ years of Product Management experience, including at least 3 years of experience managing web-based software products.
- Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering, or a related field; or equivalent experience.
- Experience working on highly technical products, such as data platforms, analytics products, or machine-learning-enabled applications.
- Experience working across engineering, design, and non-technical stakeholders, and balancing competing priorities among them.
- Experience in healthcare, life sciences, or biotech is strongly preferred, along with the ability to learn clinical context quickly.
- Experience developing regulated software (e.g., software as a medical device or clinical trial systems) under design control (e.g. IEC 62304) is strongly preferred.
- Experience designing for clinicians, clinical sites, or other expert-users is a plus.
- Comfort and enthusiasm for using modern tools to speed up product work, such as AI-assisted drafting, analysis, and rapid prototyping. We care more about how you’ve used them than which ones.
The salary range for this role is $160,000 – $183,000. Salary ranges are determined using current market compensation data for this role and adjusted based on experience, skills, and location.
