About the Role (your why)
We’re looking for a Solution Architect to join Datacom’s D365 Finance & Supply Chain ERP practice within our AI Business Solutions team. This role is central to shaping and delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 solutions that help customers modernise, optimise and transform their finance and supply chain business operations; from Manufacturing systems, Advanced Warehousing through to core Financials. You’ll work with public and private sector organisations across a range of industries, designing solutions that improve business performance, strengthen operational control and deliver sustainable value.
As a trusted advisor, you’ll partner with customers and Datacom’s sales, consulting, delivery and support teams to translate business requirements into practical, scalable solution architectures. You’ll combine strong presales and commercial capability with deep knowledge of Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, the Microsoft Power Platform and the broader Microsoft Azure ecosystem.
What you’ll do
As a Solution Architect, you will be focused on:
· Leading discovery sessions, presales workshops and customer consultations to understand business processes, pain points and strategic outcomes.
· Defining end-to-end solution architectures across Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management, including integrations, data, security, reporting and non-functional requirements.
· Producing solution options, estimates, Statements of Work, proposals, Rough Order of Magnitude documents and high-level designs that are commercially sound and technically robust.
· Advising customers on fit-to-standard approaches, solution governance, implementation roadmaps and the effective use of Microsoft technologies.
· Leading the solutioning and commercial response for bids, proposals and RFPs involving Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management.
· Partnering with functional consultants, technical architects, developers, data specialists and project teams to ensure designed solutions can be delivered successfully.
· Supporting architecture assurance throughout delivery, helping teams manage design decisions, risks, dependencies and scope.
· Contributing to practice capability through mentoring, reusable assets, thought leadership and the identification of new customer opportunities.
What you’ll bring
Required experience:
· Significant experience designing and delivering Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance and Supply Chain Management solutions in complex enterprise environments.
· Strong functional and solution architecture knowledge across core finance and supply chain capabilities, such as financial management, procurement, inventory, warehousing, manufacturing, asset management or project operations.
· Proven experience leading discovery, fit-to-standard and solution design workshops with business and technology stakeholders.
· A strong understanding of the Dynamics 365 and Microsoft technology ecosystem, including Power Platform, Dataverse, Azure integration services, reporting, security and data migration considerations.
· Experience producing estimates, ROMs, Statements of Work, proposals, architecture artefacts and high-level solution designs for mid-sized and enterprise customers.
· Commercial acumen and experience shaping, scoping and pricing implementation, enhancement and advisory engagements.
· Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Nice to have:
· Microsoft certifications relevant to Dynamics 365 Finance, Supply Chain Management, Power Platform or Azure.
· Experience with Microsoft’s Success by Design framework and architecture review practices.
· Knowledge of Dynamics 365 implementation methodologies, application lifecycle management and the One Version release model.
· Experience working within complex commercial arrangements, enterprise transformation programmes or multi-disciplinary bid teams.
· Familiarity with related Microsoft business applications, including Dynamics 365 Project Operations, Commerce, Human Resources or Business Central.
