The listing
Zus Health is a platform company on a mission to steward the migration of healthcare from silos and monopolies to more effective, precise care that is based on a complete, real time understanding of patients. As we move from a small number of imprecise drugs and a small number of generic “everything care” health systems to a large number of highly targeted, digital-first care delivery organizations, we must also accommodate a migration to targeted software workflows. Zus has built the picks and shovels for the migration. A national API first MPI and common patient record, the fastest and most complete data network in the nation, and a growing library of data automations and transformations that increase the profitability of provider patient centered care. Founded in 2021 by Jonathan Bush, co-founder and former CEO of athenahealth, Zus partners with healthcare's greatest inventors -- payers and providers of all kinds -- by maximizing the value of true patient insight.
What we’re looking for
We're looking for a healthcare-savvy, get-stuff-done leader to own and scale Business Development & Partnerships at Zus. Reporting to our COO in the Commercial Org, you'll set the partnerships strategy and run two connected parts of the business:
Channel and product partnerships: EHR, CRM, analytics, and AI workflow partners that grow Zus's distribution and bring in pipeline and revenue
Data partnerships: the labs, claims, pharmacy, and population health data sources behind the Zus connected data ecosystem
You'll work closely with executives at some of the most compelling companies in health tech and data. You'll shape joint strategies, negotiate deals that work for both sides, and turn partnerships into repeatable motions that grow Zus into new products and markets.
As a leader on our Commercial team, you will
Own the partnership's strategy and results. Define where Zus partners and why. Set targets across channel revenue, partner-sourced pipeline, and data coverage, and report on progress to the executive team.
Scale channel partnerships across AI workflow, EHR, CRM, analytics, and nearby infrastructure (identity, security, consent, interoperability, revenue cycle). The goal is durable distribution, pipeline, and revenue through referral, resale, embedded/OEM, and co-sell models.
Operationalize partner go-to-market. Build the playbooks for partner enablement, co-marketing, and co-selling, and work with Sales, Marketing, and Customer Success so partner-led deals move as smoothly as direct ones.
Build and manage the data partner portfolio across labs, claims, pharmacy, and population health sources (including HIEs and other aggregators). Improve coverage, freshness, and quality while keeping the economics of the business healthy.
Source and structure new data partnerships that make the Zus offering meaningfully better: new datasets, better connectivity, and new access and licensing models. Negotiate terms covering data rights, permitted use, and compliance (BAAs, DUAs, and similar agreements), then work with Product, Engineering, and Legal to launch and run them.
Open new areas of the business by finding and testing partner-led motions, taking them from concept to pilot to a repeatable program.
Influence the product roadmap by bringing partner, customer, and market insight to Product so integrations and data investments line up with product-market fit.
Represent Zus at conferences, industry groups, and executive meetings. Build relationships across the ecosystem and keep up with shifts in interoperability, data policy, and health tech.
You're a good fit because
You've led partnerships or business development at a health tech, health data, or healthcare infrastructure company. You have a track record in both channel/GTM partnerships and data acquisition or licensing.
You can hold both business and technical conversations with ease: APIs, integrations, workflows, data models, and security and compliance. You know what makes a partnership actually work in production.
You know the healthcare data ecosystem well: the EHR/EMR landscape, interoperability networks and HIEs, CMS, TEFCA, claims and pharmacy data flows, lab data, and payer/provider dynamics.
You're a strong negotiator who designs win-win deals and understands data licensing economics, revenue share, and the commercial and legal structures behind them.
You create compelling stories and materials, lead complex cross-functional work without formal authority, and use data to decide where to invest
You've driven channel revenue through referrals, resellers, and other strategic GTM approaches, and you know how to put partner enablement, co-marketing, and co-sell into practice.
You thrive in the fast-paced, sometimes unstructured world of a growing startup. You're comfortable both setting strategy and getting deals done yourself.
Competitive compensation that reflects the value you bring to the team a combination of cash and equity
Robust benefits that include health insurance, wellness benefits, 401k with a match, unlimited PTO
Opportunity to work alongside a passionate team that is determined to help change the world (and have fun doing it)
Please Note: Research shows that candidates from underrepresented backgrounds often don’t apply unless they meet 100% of the job criteria. While we have worked to consolidate the minimum qualifications for each role, we aren’t looking for someone who checks each box on a page; we’re looking for active learners and people who care about disrupting the current healthcare system with their unique experiences.
We do not conduct interviews by text nor will we send you a job offer unless you've interviewed with multiple people, including the Director of People & Talent, over video interviews. Job scams do exist so please be careful with your personal information.
