About Scale Army
This is a big boy job.
You will report directly to the CEO and sit on the leadership team.
We are a staffing + AI services business. Our buyers are B2B companies with 50–200 employees and $5M+ in revenue.
Nearly all our pipeline comes from paid media. You will manage the team responsible for that engine, which is why this role matters so much.
Our leadership team is incredibly fast and analytical. That should not intimidate you.
The Role
You are Scale Army's marketing leader. Every part of marketing reports to you: paid media, creative, conversion, brand, content, and SEO.
You'll build the team, set marketing strategy with the leadership team, and own the results. Those results are business outcomes, not platform metrics.
You'll be accountable for marketing CAC, cost per MQL and SQL, cost per meeting held, and paid pipeline quality, alongside organic traffic, rankings, and organic-sourced pipeline. We don't measure you on CTR, CPM, or cheap lead volume.
Your responsibilities include:
Lead paid media strategy: Manage the media buyer, whether agency or in-house, rather than living in the ad account yourself. However, you must understand the account well enough to identify structural problems, including custom events and offline conversions.
Manage a multi-channel paid engine: Oversee Meta, Google, LinkedIn, and X across 2–3 product lines, with approximately $80K/month in ad spend today.
Own budget allocation and efficiency: Forecast expected returns before scaling toward $150K/month. Reallocate spend across channels, campaigns, and offers based on cost per meeting held.
Own conversion performance: Oversee the offers, lead magnets, landing pages, forms, booking and show rates, and testing roadmap that determine how paid traffic converts.
Bridge marketing and sales: Work with the sales team weekly, gather feedback on lead quality and messaging, and translate it into improvements in targeting, offers, and creative.
Support sales enablement: Give the sales team the messaging, content, and market insights they need to convert the meetings marketing generates.
Shape lead-generation strategy: Work with the leadership team to develop a strategy that serves sales, challenging ICP assumptions when the data disagrees.
Own attribution and tracking: Partner with Sales Ops on offline conversions and HubSpot attribution so both teams trust the same numbers.
Build an AI-native marketing team: Create your own dashboards, automations, and reusable agents, and establish the expectation that the team works the same way.
Lead the creative team: Set priorities, workflows, output expectations, and production speed.
Build the content function: Make hiring a Senior Content Marketing Manager one of your first priorities. This person will own thought leadership, social, video, and podcast content. You'll decide how the broader content and organic team should be structured.
Manage SEO: Direct our SEO agency and hold it accountable for organic traffic, rankings, and the pipeline it generates. You won't execute the SEO work yourself, but you'll set the direction and measure performance.
The Team You'll Lead
You'll lead a flat team of six to eight people across four functional areas. Several positions are already filled, and you'll shape and hire the rest.

What You've Done Before
Have 10 years of experience.
Led growth for a B2B services, lead-generation, or sales-led B2B software company where success was measured by booked or held sales meetings, rather than e-commerce sales or self-serve signups.
Owned a paid media budget of $50K+/month across Meta, Google Ads, LinkedIn Ads, and X (Twitter) Ads, with genuine depth across all four platforms.
Scaled paid spend while maintaining or improving meetings, SQLs, and CAC, rather than optimizing only for CPL.
Have strong funnel math skills, including CAC, conversion rates by stage, and forecasting spend against business outcomes.
Managed media buyers or agencies and can distinguish strong account structures from poor ones.
Owned offers, lead magnets, and landing pages, rather than just campaigns.
Worked closely with a sales team in a sales-led funnel and earned its trust on lead quality.
Managed an SEO agency or organic program and can evaluate its effectiveness without executing SEO hands-on.
Built a creative testing engine and understand that creative is one of the biggest levers in paid media.
Hired and managed a small team, ideally including remote and international team members.
Have strong HubSpot skills, including lifecycle stages, offline conversion setup, and attribution, alongside GA4 expertise.
Demonstrate advanced AI fluency beyond prompting. You've built tools using Claude Code or similar platforms, created reusable skills or agents, and set up your own dashboards and automations. Be ready to show examples.
Have a strong ownership mindset. You don't wait to be told what to test next, and you don't stop at the edge of the ad platform.
Nice to Have
Experience in staffing, recruiting, or outsourcing.
Experience building a brand or thought-leadership program alongside performance marketing.
Experience with CRO testing tools such as VWO and conversion value modeling on Meta.
Who This Isn't For
Brand-first marketers who measure success in impressions or awareness.
Anyone who wants a large team and budget before proving results.
Leaders who can't open an ad account and explain what's happening in it.
Anyone who isn't incredibly fast at mental math.
Anyone who isn't great at Excel formulas.
Anyone who doesn't speak quickly.
Logistics
Location: Fully remote, anywhere in the world.
