The listing
Banyan Software is the best permanent home for software businesses that serve specialized industries, their employees, and their customers. With a buy-grow-and-hold-for-life approach and a permanent capital base, Banyan acquires and grows companies worldwide, honoring founder legacies and helping portfolio companies modernize through shared AI expertise and operational discipline. Founded in 2016, Banyan operates more than 120 portfolio companies across North and South America, Europe, and APAC, and has appeared on the Inc. 5000 list for six consecutive years. The Banyan Software Foundation, endowed with $100 million in Banyan stock, leverages technology to build a greener and more equitable world.
About BeQuick
BeQuick is the OSS/BSS platform that mobile virtual network operators run their businesses on. Founded in 2002 and part of the Banyan portfolio, BeQuick handles the operational core of a wireless carrier: subscriber lifecycle, rating and billing, provisioning and activation, payments and dunning, taxation and regulatory fees, customer care workflows, retail and dealer channels, and the reporting that tells an operator where its margin actually is.
Roughly 30 active MVNO clients depend on the platform daily, including prepaid and postpaid operators, Lifeline providers, faith-based and affinity brands, and enterprise IoT plays. The product suite spans Fusion (core OSS/BSS), Connect (converged billing, including ISPs and WISPs), Orbit (subscriber and dealer portals), Echo (multi-tenant IVR), and Vector.
The team is about 15 people, fully remote, and unusually senior for its size. BeQuick has been an early and aggressive adopter of agentic AI in engineering, support, and commercial work, and is recognized inside the Banyan portfolio for it.
This is a switching-cost business in the truest sense. Customers do not casually replace the system that bills their subscribers. That durability is real, and it comes with an obligation: the platform has to keep up with carrier requirements, regulatory change, and what operators now expect software to do for them.
The Opportunity
You would own the whole business: strategy, product direction, go-to-market, team, and P&L. You report to a Banyan Operating Partner and have full operational authority over how you run the company day to day.
The mandate:
- Grow recurring revenue in a market where the buyer universe is finite and every new logo is a competitive displacement or a launch you help stand up.
- Protect retention and pricing power. Revenue is concentrated in a handful of large accounts. Managing that concentration, both by defending those relationships and by widening the base under them, is a core part of the job, not a footnote.
- Push the product forward on an AI-first thesis. BeQuick sits on the transaction, usage, and margin data for millions of subscriber-months. Turning that into wholesale margin intelligence, churn prediction, and automated care is the clearest path to structural advantage.
- Expand adjacent. Converged billing for ISPs and WISPs, and other subscriber-billing markets that share the same operational spine, are open ground.
- Own the carrier and regulatory surface. Carrier partnership diligence, enterprise security questionnaires, and compliance posture land on the CEO's desk in a company this size.
Who You Are
You have run a P&L in telecom, and you know this market from the inside. You have sat on the operator side of an MVNO agreement, or built the systems that make one work, and you can tell the difference between a wholesale deal that looks good and one that actually clears.
You are technical enough to be dangerous, but you are not here to write code. You can read an API spec, interrogate a data model, hold your own in a carrier integration call, and tell when an engineering estimate is optimistic. You have a Head of Development and a strong engineering team. You need to lead them, not do their jobs.
You are comfortable being the primary commercial voice: negotiating your own MSAs and renewals, walking into a carrier's supplier review, and presenting to a board without a chief of staff assembling the deck for you.
And AI is not a slide in your strategy deck. It has already changed how you think about where value comes from and what your product should become.
Qualifications
Required
- Executive experience (CEO, COO, CRO, CPO, GM, or SVP-level) at an MVNO, MVNE, or MVNA, or at a company selling directly into them.
- Direct P&L ownership with accountability for growth, net revenue retention, and margin.
- Working fluency in wireless operations: wholesale carrier economics, activation and provisioning, rating and mediation, number porting, eSIM and BYOD, device financing, dealer and retail channels.
- Practical command of the regulatory environment: CPNI and Section 222, CALEA, STIR/SHAKEN, USF and state regulatory fees, 10DLC, and the post-ACP Lifeline landscape.
- Technical literacy sufficient to make credible build-versus-buy calls and to be a real counterpart to an engineering leader.
- Demonstrated use of AI in a product, in a business, or both, with a clear point of view on where it creates durable value versus where it is theater.
- Track record leading a small, senior, fully remote team.
Strongly preferred
- Has led a company or business unit through a repositioning, pricing redesign, or platform transition before the market forced it.
- Experience with B2B SaaS in a concentrated-customer environment, including how to grow out of concentration rather than just survive it.
- Hands-on carrier relationship management with T-Mobile, Verizon, or AT&T wholesale organizations.
- Familiarity with telecom tax and compliance engines, and with the operational reality of migrating between them.
Nice to have
- ISP, WISP, or fixed wireless billing exposure.
- M&A experience, either as an acquirer of small software assets or as an operator inside an acquired company.
Transition and Support
The incoming CEO will have a structured handover with the outgoing CEO, including an advisory period to transfer client, carrier, and Banyan relationships. Details to be finalized.
Why a Banyan Operating Company
A permanent home, not a portfolio play. Banyan buys, holds, and grows software companies for life, and never resells. No three-to-five-year clock, and no pressure to optimize for an exit at the expense of long-term value.
Autonomy with backing. How you run the business is your call. Banyan provides capital, shared services, and a network of operating partners, and does not dictate how you build your team, price your product, or run go-to-market.
A peer network. A community of portfolio company CEOs working the same problems: AI adoption, product-led growth, talent density, and durable recurring revenue in specialized markets.
Legacy and continuity. Banyan preserves the brand, identity, and culture of the companies it acquires. You are building on a foundation that will be protected, not consolidated or stripped for parts.
