About the Role:

The Communications team at Hims & Hers shapes how the world understands our role in advancing modern health, building strategies that raise awareness, foster brand love, trust, and loyalty, protect our reputation, and drive adoption of our products and services.

As technology becomes an increasingly central part of our story, from AI-native care to the platform innovations behind our consumer experience, we're looking for a communications leader to shape how we tell that story to the world. You'll lead high-priority work spanning technology and product storytelling, AI and innovation narrative, engineering culture and talent communications, and technical thought leadership, building a comms strategy that positions Hims & Hers as a technology company as much as a healthcare company. Reporting to the VP of Corporate Communications, you'll partner closely with Engineering, Product, Data Science, AI, Security, Investor Relations, Policy, and Marketing teams, plus our global Product Communications team, to translate complex technical work into stories that build trust, credibility, and excitement, both with the public and within the tech industry.

We're a team of intellectually curious, creative storytellers and problem solvers who love making the complex simple and the abstract resonate. This role calls for strong communications judgment, fluency in the technology and AI media landscape, and the ability to move easily between strategy and execution, translating deep technical work into narratives that resonate with consumers, trade press, and industry audiences alike. You thrive in the fast pace of a startup while stewarding a public company that serves people's health and well-being, and you know how to spot risk and opportunity in our technology narrative early, especially as AI and health intersect in ways the public is still learning to trust.

You Will:

  • Lead communications strategy for technology and AI in partnership with the broader comms team to build awareness, foster trust, and shape understanding of the engineering and innovation behind our products.

  • Drive communications for major technological product launches, shaping positioning, media strategy, and launch plans from day one.

  • Partner with leaders across Engineering, Product, Data Science, AI, and Security to build strategies grounded in the technical realities, roadmap, and priorities of what we're building.

  • Translate complex technical work, from AI models to platform infrastructure, into narratives that resonate with investors, consumers, media, and industry audiences without oversimplifying or overhyping.

  • Build and manage relationships with technology, business, and trade media, as well as industry analysts and influencers, to build trust, credibility, and thought leadership for Hims & Hers as a technology company.

  • Develop ongoing campaigns that extend beyond launch moments to grow our reputation as a technology innovator and support the business as it scales.

  • Serve as a strategic advisor and exec communications leader to the Chief Technology Officer and Chief Product Officer on high-profile moments, media opportunities, speaking engagements, and complex communications decisions, including those touching AI, data, and privacy.

  • Partner with the Internal Communications team on technology-focused moments, narratives and initiatives for Hims & Hers employees.

  • Partner with Corporate, Product, and Policy Communications on issues and reputation management, anticipating risk, especially around AI and health, and ensuring responses are clear, credible, and timely.

  • Use data and media insights to understand what's working and continually sharpen our impact and narrative over time.

You Have:

  • 10+ years of experience in communications, with direct experience in technology, product, and corporate communications, ideally with experience at a public company.

  • A track record leading communications for major product launches, technical announcements, or other high-profile moments.

  • Deep knowledge of the technology and AI media landscape, with strong relationships across relevant trade, business, and consumer technology press.

  • Experience partnering with engineering, product, data science, and technical stakeholders to translate complex work into clear communications.

  • Experience communicating in a space where technology, regulation, or reputational risk shapes how a company communicates, particularly around AI, data, or privacy.

  • Experience developing narratives that make complex products, technologies, or issues clear, relevant, and compelling to different audiences.

  • Ability to see the big-picture narrative while knowing when a specific announcement, audience, or moment needs a different message or approach to land.

  • Experience advising senior leaders and influencing cross-functional partners across Engineering, Product, Policy, Marketing, and other teams.

  • Excellent writing and storytelling skills, with the ability to move from strategy to execution when needed.

  • Ability to operate with speed and sound judgment as priorities shift quickly.

  • A data-driven approach to communications, with the ability to define success and use insights to improve strategy and execution.

  • Genuine curiosity about and fluency in emerging technology and AI, with the judgment to know what's substantive versus hype.

  • Willingness to travel as needed.

Our Benefits (there are more but here are some highlights):

  • Competitive salary & equity compensation for full-time roles

  • Unlimited PTO, company holidays, and quarterly mental health days

  • Comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental & vision, and parental leave

  • Employee Stock Purchase Program (ESPP)

  • 401k benefits with employer matching contribution

  • Offsite team retreats

We are committed to building a workforce that reflects diverse perspectives and prioritizes ethics, wellness, and a strong sense of belonging. If you're excited about this role, we encourage you to apply—even if you're not sure if your background or experience is a perfect match.
