The Opportunity
The Patient Programming/Ambassador Manager for ulixacaltamide will own the strategy, planning, and execution of patient-focused programs and ambassador initiatives that bring the patient perspective into Praxis’ commercial organization and support people living with essential tremor throughout their treatment journey. This role will establish program priorities, define measures of success, and align resources and execution with identified patient needs and brand objectives.
You will build meaningful, compliant relationships with patients, caregivers, and patient advocacy communities and translate their experiences and needs into impactful programming. You’ll lead patient ambassador strategy and activation, partner with internal and external stakeholders to develop patient-centered experiences and resources and ensure the patient voice is thoughtfully represented across the brand. Accountability will include cross-functional program planning, assigned budgets, external partner performance, and processes that support consistent, compliant execution.
This is a highly collaborative, strategic and hands-on leadership role for a builder who can move between strategy and execution, build trusted relationships, and bring empathy, creativity, and rigor to a regulated environment. Success will require independent judgment, the ability to influence without direct authority, and accountability for program quality, patient experience, and results.
Primary Responsibilities
- Own the patient programming strategy and annual operating plan for ulixacaltamide, including identification of patient needs, priority audiences, program objectives, engagement approaches, and measures of success. Establish priorities, recommend resource allocation, and adapt plans based on patient insights, program performance, and evolving brand needs.
- Lead the strategy and end-to-end management of a patient ambassador program, including ambassador identification, recruitment, onboarding, training, engagement, ongoing relationship management, and program evaluation. Establish program standards and repeatable processes that support an authentic patient voice, a consistent participant experience, and compliant engagement.
- Lead the design and delivery of meaningful patient and caregiver experiences and programs that help address identified needs and create opportunities for people affected by essential tremor to engage with Praxis in appropriate, compliant ways. Translate patient and caregiver insights into prioritized program recommendations and coordinate execution across internal and external partners.
- Serve as a strong advocate for the patient voice, translating patient and caregiver insights into recommendations that inform cross-functional brand planning and program priorities and helping teams understand the lived experience behind the condition. Represent patient programming and ambassador initiatives in brand planning discussions and present insights, recommendations, and results to brand and commercial leadership.
- Partner with patient advocacy organizations and external stakeholders to build trusted relationships and identify opportunities for appropriate collaboration, education, and community engagement. Coordinate with relevant internal stakeholders to align outreach, clarify responsibilities, and maintain appropriate engagement boundaries.
- Lead external agencies and internal partners in the development and execution of patient programs, ensuring high-quality delivery, clear accountability, thoughtful patient experience, and adherence to applicable requirements. Define scopes of work, deliverables, timelines, and performance expectations; proactively address execution risks and escalate material issues.
- Define program success measures and lead performance reviews, using participant feedback, patient insights, engagement measures, and other available data to continuously improve programming and ambassador engagement. Evaluate results against objectives and recommend changes to program design, investment, and execution based on findings.
- Manage assigned patient programming and ambassador budgets, including planning, forecasting, monitoring spend, and recommending adjustments to balance program impact, patient experience, and cost.
- Partner with Medical, Legal, Regulatory, Compliance, and other relevant stakeholders, as applicable, to establish appropriate review processes and ensure patient programming and ambassador activities follow company policies and applicable requirements, including those related to patient consent, privacy, and appropriate engagement boundaries.
Qualifications and Key Success Factors
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree in business, life sciences, communications, public health, or a related field is a plus.
- Progressive experience in pharmaceutical, biotechnology, healthcare, patient advocacy, patient engagement, or a related field, including experience leading patient-focused programs and cross-functional initiatives in a regulated environment. Experience in CNS, neurology, movement disorders, essential tremor, or another specialty disease area is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated experience setting strategy and leading the development, execution, and evaluation of patient-focused programs, communities, initiatives, or engagement strategies, with clear accountability for priorities, resources, and results.
- Experience managing patient ambassador, speaker, advocate, influencer, or similar external engagement programs preferred.
- Strong understanding of the importance of patient privacy, appropriate boundaries, and compliance requirements when working directly with patients and caregivers. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with relevant review and approval partners throughout program development and execution.
- Exceptional relationship-building skills and the ability to establish trust with patients, caregivers, advocacy organizations, internal stakeholders, and external partners. Demonstrated ability to align stakeholders and influence decisions without direct reporting authority.

- Strong cross-functional leadership, program management, and agency oversight skills, with the ability to manage multiple workstreams, stakeholders, and timelines, and make informed prioritization decisions.
- Experience managing program budgets and external partner performance, with the ability to evaluate resource needs and recommend investment priorities.
- Excellent communication skills, including the ability to communicate with empathy and authenticity while maintaining appropriate professional and compliance boundaries. Ability to present strategic recommendations and program results to senior stakeholders.
- Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building new programs and capabilities in a fast-moving environment.
- High level of ownership, judgment, organization, and attention to detail.
