This is a hands-on role at the intersection of cloud infrastructure, security, automation, and reliability. You will work with a team that owns its systems end to end, contributing to resilient cloud architecture, secure operations, and efficient infrastructure management across Microsoft Azure and Amazon Web Services (AWS).
Key Responsibilities
Cloud Infrastructure and Architecture
- Operate, maintain, and improve production infrastructure across Azure and AWS, including compute, networking, databases, load balancing, and identity services.
- Evaluate and implement improvements to cloud architecture, availability, security, reliability, and operational efficiency.
- Support the integration of infrastructure from acquired companies into Irth’s cloud environments, operational processes, and security standards.
Security and Compliance
- Implement and maintain cloud security controls, including IAM/RBAC, network segmentation, web application firewall (WAF) rules, TLS, and secrets management.
- Manage vulnerability remediation, patching, and findings from security scans and penetration tests.
- Support SOC 2 Type II compliance by maintaining operational controls, collecting audit evidence, and documenting relevant processes.
- Identify security risks and collaborate with stakeholders to prioritize and implement appropriate remediation.
Reliability and Operations
- Monitor production systems and maintain effective alerting to support service availability and performance.
- Participate in incident response, root cause analysis, and corrective action planning.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and support timely resolution of production issues.
- Maintain runbooks, architecture diagrams, and technical documentation.
Automation and Continuous Improvement
- Automate repeatable operational tasks using PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar scripting tools.
- Build and maintain infrastructure-as-code solutions using Terraform, Bicep, or equivalent technologies.
- Support and improve CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar platforms.
- Monitor cloud usage and spending, identify optimization opportunities, and collaborate with the team to improve cost efficiency.
Requirements
What We’re Looking For
- Experience: 3–5 years in cloud engineering, Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), DevOps, or infrastructure engineering, supporting production workloads.
- Cloud platforms: Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and AWS in production environments.
- SaaS operations: Experience supporting SaaS applications in regulated or security-conscious environments.
- Cloud security: Working knowledge of IAM/RBAC, network segmentation, WAF, TLS, secrets management, and vulnerability remediation.
- Monitoring and reliability: Experience with production monitoring, alerting, incident response, and troubleshooting.
- Scripting and automation: Proficiency in PowerShell, Bash, or Python, with experience using CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions or similar tools.
- Infrastructure as code: Practical experience with Terraform, Bicep, or comparable technologies.
- Communication and judgment: Strong written communication skills, sound troubleshooting abilities, and good judgment when assessing operational risk and escalating issues.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to Microsoft Entra ID and Microsoft 365 administration.
- Experience with SOC 2, ISO 27001, or similar compliance frameworks.
- Familiarity with security and infrastructure monitoring tools such as Wiz, PRTG, Vanta, or SentinelOne.
- Relevant cloud certifications, such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure/AWS security certifications.
- Experience supporting mergers, acquisitions, or infrastructure integrations.
- Experience with Windows Server, IIS, SQL Server, or Azure SQL Managed Instance.
