The listing
We’re looking for a Senior Python Developer to build backend applications, APIs, and AI-enabled software for our clients. You’ll own software from design through production, working on Python development, API design, application architecture, integrations, and cloud deployments. You’ll also integrate LLMs, vector databases, and retrieval capabilities into production applications.
You’ll work closely with product managers, engineers, QA, and other stakeholders to deliver features and solutions.
We are 100% remote, but candidates must reside in and be authorized to work in the US.
Responsibilities
Design, build, test, and maintain Python applications, backend services, RESTful APIs, and microservices.
Own production software through its full lifecycle, driving initiatives independently from design through deployment and support.
Integrate third-party services, databases, and LLMs, and implement secure authentication and authorization for APIs and services.
Implement LLM integration patterns and retrieval capabilities, including RAG architectures and vector databases.
Build data processing workflows, including JSON parsing, document transformation, data extraction, and structured output generation.
Contribute to CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, deployment, monitoring, and logging, and troubleshoot production issues across applications, APIs, integrations, and infrastructure.
Improve application performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and business stakeholders, and evaluate new technologies where they offer meaningful improvements.
Qualifications
5+ years of professional software development, primarily in Python, with strong backend, object-oriented, and application architecture fundamentals.
Experience designing RESTful APIs and building microservices, including secure authentication and authorization.
Experience developing and deploying applications on AWS (or a comparable cloud platform), with working knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and logging in production.
Solid grounding in relational databases, SQL, and data modeling, plus data processing workflows such as JSON parsing, document transformation, and structured output generation.
Hands-on experience integrating LLMs into production applications, including retrieval/RAG patterns and vector databases. At least one LLM-powered feature shipped to production. AWS Bedrock experience preferred; similar platforms are fine.
Strong debugging and problem-solving skills across applications, integrations, and infrastructure.
Clear communicator who works well in an Agile, cross-functional team and can own complex initiatives independently.
Nice to Have
Experience developing GenAI or LLM-powered applications.
Experience with agentic AI frameworks or AI agent development.
Experience with AgentCore runtime and associated services.
Experience with document processing, PDF extraction, computer vision, or other data extraction technologies.
Experience optimizing applications for performance, latency, scalability, and cost efficiency.
