💡About the role:

We’re looking for a Risk Analyst to join Xolo’s group Risk function and operate the first-line controls on our onboarding and monitoring queues — to procedure and to evidenced quality.

Xolo is on a mission to help freelancers do their business across the EU — this will bring challenges that will constantly change and evolve as we figure out best ways to support our clients. You will verify who our clients are, screen them, and review how their accounts are used, escalating anything that doesn’t fit our risk profile to your Risk Lead. No prior AML experience is needed for the role, as we train on site, but accuracy, consistency and sound judgement on when to escalate are essential.

You’ll be part of a growing Risk function, with new analysts joining across onboarding and monitoring and dedicated Risk Leads to supervise, coach and review your work. There is a clear career path ahead with progression assessed on evidenced performance rather than time served, and structured training at every step.

✍️ As a Risk Analyst at Xolo, you will:

  • Verify client identity and screen clients against sanctions, PEP and high-risk lists.
  • Work an onboarding or alert queue based on our internal procedures and have the ability to identify inefficiencies.
  • Carry out customer due diligence and ongoing due diligence, including information requests to clients.
  • Close routine clearances and no-action alerts within procedure, and keep a complete record of each decision.
  • Escalate suspicion, procedural deviations and high-risk or PEP outcomes to your Risk Lead.
  • Take part in structured training in GDPR, AML/CFT, typologies, transaction monitoring and sanctions, and in quarterly cross-training.

🧩 What makes you a great fit?

  • Have a bachelor’s degree or higher; economics, finance, accounting, law, or a related field.
  • Work accurately under volume, and have the judgement to escalate rather than resolve alone.
  • Are comfortable working to a written procedure, with every decision documented and defensible on review.
  • Are confident with numbers: you can read a bank statement or an invoice trail and see when turnover, payments and declared activity don’t add up.
  • Think logically: you separate fact from assumption, follow the evidence step by step, and reach a conclusion you can explain in writing.
  • Write clear, concise case notes in English that another analyst could pick up and act on.
  • Bonus: strong spreadsheet skills, or a record in numerical or logical reasoning, such as statistics, data analysis or problem-solving tests.

💭 Why Xolo?

  • We invest in your well-being: Choose between health insurance or a sports membership, enjoy a one-time home office setup bonus, and receive a monthly remote work allowance. Plus, you’ll be part of our annual company summer event in Estonia — a chance to connect, recharge, and have fun together.
  • A team of Mavericks: We aspire to challenge the norm by encouraging bold thinking and embracing the unconventional. As a member of our team, you’ll have the freedom to take risks, explore new ideas, and challenge the status quo.
  • We run like Clockwork: While we champion innovation, we also believe in operational excellence. Our processes are designed to be smart, efficient, and finely tuned.
  • Our Big-hearted nature: You’ll work alongside mission-driven individuals who not only bring brilliance to the table but also lead with empathy. We believe that great work is built on strong relationships, and we’re always ready to help, listen, and grow together.
