The listing
Remote, United States · Full-time
We're looking for a player-coach sales leader who knows GIS and uses AI every day. You'll carry your own territory and quota, and you'll also lead our sales team and own its results.
That means two jobs in one. On your own, you'll win new customers and grow existing accounts with cities, counties, and utilities across the US. As the leader, you'll coach the team, own our pipeline and bookings forecast to Harris leadership, and manage the Sales team budget.
AI tools are a core part of how we find prospects, sell, coach, and forecast, and you'll set the example. You'll also be the person customers trust to explain, in plain terms, what AI can and can't do with their GIS data.
This is a fully remote role open to candidates anywhere in the US, with regular travel to customer sites and GIS conferences.
Harris is part of Constellation Software. We buy and keep great software businesses for the long run, which means stable teams, customers who stay for decades, and room to do things properly.
What you will do
Sell (your own territory)
- Carry a personal quota and own your sales territory.
- Run the full sales cycle: prospecting, discovery, demos, proposals, pricing, and closing.
- Work through RFPs and public buying processes with patience and care.
- Use AI prospecting and research tools to find opportunities and focus on the accounts most likely to buy.
Lead the sales team
- Lead, coach, and grow our sales team.
- Set territories, quotas, and goals, and help each person hit them.
- Use AI insights such as call analysis and deal scoring to make coaching sharper.
- Hire and onboard new team members when needed.
Own the forecast and the budget
- Own our pipeline and bookings forecast, reported up to Harris leadership.
- Run regular pipeline reviews and keep CRM data clean.
- Use AI-generated forecasts and reports, but check them and add your own judgment before they go up.
- Manage the Sales team budget, with monthly forecast updates and clear explanations of any variance.
Sell GIS and AI with credibility
- Talk GIS workflows, spatial data, and integrations with GIS staff, IT, and executives alike.
- Show customers practical ways AI can help with their GIS work, and be straight about the limits and how their data is protected.
- Bring what you hear from customers back to our Product team.
Take care of customers
- Work with Customer Success and Professional Services to keep customers happy and growing.
- Partner with Marketing on campaigns, content, and GIS conferences.
What we are looking for
We want someone who lives our values, still loves to sell, and is ready to lead.
- 5+ years of B2B software sales, with a record of meeting or beating quota.
- Experience leading or coaching a sales team while carrying your own number.
- Experience selling GIS, mapping, or location software or services.
- Experience building a team forecast and presenting it to leadership.
- Experience managing or contributing to a sales budget.
- Working knowledge of GIS tools and concepts, such as ESRI ArcGIS, spatial data, and web maps.
- Experience with public sector or utility buyers, including RFPs and long sales cycles.
- You use AI tools every day in your own work, for things like account research, meeting prep, proposals, and forecasting. You know from experience where they help and where they fall short.
- You can explain AI to a non-technical buyer clearly and honestly.
- Strong CRM habits (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar).
- Comfortable working independently from a home office.
During interviews, we'll ask you to walk us through real examples of how you use AI in your own selling and with your team. General interest in AI isn't enough; we want to hear what you actually do.
Nice to have
- GISP or ESRI certification.
- A background as a GIS analyst, technician, or solutions engineer.
- Experience selling software with AI features, or rolling out AI sales tools to a team.
- Ties to the US GIS community, such as state GIS associations or URISA.
You'll do well here if you are
- A seller at heart who also enjoys building a team.
- Comfortable with numbers and willing to stand behind a forecast.
- A coach who lifts the people around you.
- Organized, proactive, and comfortable with change.
- Curious about new tools and quick to put them to use.
Salary Range: $110,000 - $120,000 USD per year.
