The listing

SwingDev—a hippo company is the Polish branch of a fast-growing InsurTech product company – Hippo Insurance. We’re here to make home insurance smarter and more proactive, using tech to bring fresh solutions. We also create digital products that support our customers, always focusing on what really makes an impact.

Putting a lot of effort into hiring top-tier professionals is a proof that we care a lot about tech experience, the attitude, human approach, and what we could call „culture fit”.

„SwingDev is all about people” - yes, it may sound a bit cliche. But whether we're writing code or just hanging out, we know that people are at the heart of everything we do. We like to have a good time and keep things light, even when we're tackling big projects. We could brag about what’s making us special, but we’ve boiled it down to two key ingredients: mature, companionable people who, rather than compete, prefer to inspire and have each other’s backs; a culture of trust, empathy, and positivity that keeps us together, lets us interact as teammates and friends, and truly enjoy the ride.

So if you're a Senior QA Engineer looking to shake things up and have a good time while you're at it, you’ve come to the right place. 🚀
About the role:
Join the Service Charter team, the group behind Hippo's contact center and customer data platform – the systems our service, operations, and partner teams rely on every day to support customers and agencies.

We own the full stack that powers customer interactions: the gateways that route calls into the right programs, the services that manage contact center and agency customer data, and the workers and data pipelines that ingest call data from platforms like NICE and Strada. You'll work across backend services, event-driven workers, and scheduled data runners – designing systems that are reliable, scalable, and central to how Hippo serves its customers.

As part of the Growth & CX domain, you'll collaborate closely with Engineers, Product Managers, and operations teams, getting hands-on exposure to business-critical workflows like call routing, contact center analytics, agency prequoting automation, and large-scale customer data management.

What will you do?

  • You'll deeply collaborate with Engineering teams. This includes actively participating in the development of new features and initiatives, from initial requirement analysis and test planning to execution, regression testing, and final release sign-off.
  • You'll partner closely with Product Managers. This means you will be responsible for prioritizing testing efforts, clarifying requirements, challenging assumptions from a quality perspective, coordinating Business Acceptance Testing, and advocating for the needs of our customers.
  • You'll collaborate with other manual QA engineers on cross-team and cross-BU projects, to expand and maintain our test coverage for new features and regression testing.
  • You'll proactively identify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring that our products meet the highest standards of quality and reliability.
  • We might be a match if you…

  • Have 5+ years of QA experience, with a focus on manual testing (Black Box, White Box, and Grey Box).
  • Have a good knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
  • Have a good understanding of testing integration, functional, end-to-end, and API tests (Postman).
  • Have experience with test case design, execution, and reporting for complex systems (front-end and back-end).
  • Have an ability to create test cases and collections that exercise the requirements and business rules in colaboration with PMs.
  • Worked with test case management tools (preferably XRay).
  • Have good analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Are an independent problem solver but also a collaborative team player.
  • Have a great command of English (written & spoken) and at least basic of Polish.
  • Are available in the afternoons – In this role, you’ll be working afternoons (until 8 PM) 3 times a week – we try to prioritize everyone’s personal time, but this collaboration sits close to our US team. Good news though – no meetings on Fridays :)
  •
You will get extra points for:
  • Experience working in a product company, ideally a startup/scale-up.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and their impact on the QA process.
  • Experience with Jira and agile testing methodologies.
  • Experience with Salesforce or any other CRM.
  • Recruitment process:

  • Send us your CV – it's the best way for us to get to know you.
  • Meet with one of our Recruiters.
  • Join for a 90-minute interview with Grzegorz (Manager, Quality Engineering).
  • Meet on the final stage with Marcin and Alicja.
  • and... welcome aboard! 👋
