Experience: 4+ years of relevant legal practice
Key Responsibilities
Analyze complex energy and utilities regulatory questions involving rate design, tariff structures, market operations, and compliance obligations.
Apply federal and state energy regulatory frameworks to realistic legal scenarios.
Evaluate regulatory matters involving FERC, state PUCs, and ISO/RTO markets.
Develop clear, structured legal analyses supported by relevant regulatory principles and practical experience.
Identify jurisdictional differences, unsettled legal questions, and fact-dependent regulatory interpretations.
Review and validate legal analyses produced by other contributors for accuracy, completeness, and clarity.
Provide constructive feedback to improve the quality and reliability of AI-generated legal reasoning.
Identify ambiguous or insufficiently defined regulatory scenarios and escalate them to project coordinators.
Deliver accurate, high-quality work within established project timelines.

Active U.S. bar admission in at least one state or the District of Columbia.
Minimum 4 years of substantive, hands-on experience practicing energy and utilities regulatory law.
Demonstrated experience advising utilities, independent power producers, energy market participants, or regulatory authorities.
Strong understanding of energy regulatory compliance, utility rate structures, tariffs, and market frameworks.
Practical familiarity with FERC regulations, state PUC proceedings, and/or ISO/RTO regulatory environments.
Strong legal research, analytical reasoning, and written communication skills.
Ability to distinguish established legal principles from unsettled, jurisdiction-specific, or fact-dependent issues.
Ability to work independently and deliver detailed, well-reasoned legal assessments.
