The Principal Technical Consultant works closely with the client’s project team to design, develop, and deploy a customer’s various technical requirements. These requirements include migration of data from existing customer systems to Workday. The consultant has knowledge of core design principles, common data modeling and patterns, project implementation methodology, and a successful track record of delivering.
You are motivated by the opportunity to shape Workday’s next generation of services in an AI/Platform/Data Cloud landscape, and you are comfortable working with modern data tools and patterns (for example, Workday Build, Snowflake, and Apache Iceberg).
We are looking for hardworking, creative consultants who are passionate about what they do! You should be proficient at explaining sophisticated concepts in simple terms and understanding customer procedures. You are curious about how things work and love solving puzzles.
We look for team members who will suggest creative and new ways to develop and deliver technical solutions. You would be an innovative self-starter who can drive ideas from concept through implementation.

About You
Basic Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience within the Workday Ecosystem - Data migration, integration development, report building, or software development
- 7+ years of experience with technical consulting, requirements gathering, or solution design, OR
- 7+ years of Human Resource, Payroll, Financials, Supply Chain, or Student domain experience
- AI Fluency: Familiarity with AI concepts, including LLM integration and agentic workflow design
Other Qualifications
- Proficient with ETL, SQL/MySQL, XML, Microsoft Excel, stored procedures or other data tooling
- Experience working with customers and/or team members and leading data requirements sessions
- Participation in a minimum of 1 full life cycle software implementation
- Understanding of the complete software implementation lifecycle - including data requirements gathering, dataset migration, data reconciliation, and move to production
- 7+ years of experience coordinating and collaborating with cross organizational partners to define requirements and resolve data issues
- 7+ years of experience mapping, transforming, and loading data from source to target software systems.
- Experience in a Data Conversion work stream on a software implementation
- Preferable - Experience using GitHub
- Preferable - Experience with Python and/or Ruby
- Preferable - Prior experience with Workday data conversion technologies such as iLoad, EIB, Advanced Load
- Experience with AI products, prompt engineering and agent development

The annualized base salary ranges for the primary location and any additional locations are listed below. Workday pay ranges vary based on work location.
