The listing
beehiiv is where the world's best newsletters, podcasts, and digital products are built, grown, and distributed. The platform combines email, podcast hosting, websites, community, and digital products, all connected to a single audience and a single set of tools for publishing, growth, and monetization. As we approach $50M in annualized revenue and continue to grow almost 100% YoY, our rapidly growing product suite and incredibly strong brand positions us for the next stage of hypergrowth.
We're hiring a Partner Program Lead to turn our developing partner program into a more significant revenue driver. Thousands of partners already refer customers to beehiiv and earn up to 60% of referred revenue for a year. We believe (and you should validate) that the biggest opportunity sits with the agencies that run newsletters, email, and podcasts for dozens of clients at a time. You'll own that motion end to end: who we go after, how we find and attract them, what we offer them, how we close them, and what happens after they sign up. Some weeks that could be building partner acquisition campaigns, reaching out to new potential partners, discovery calls and creating enablement content; other weeks it could be partner training, a payout issue, a co-sell with enterprise sales, or re-thinking incentives.
This is a full-stack role with spikes in partner marketing, selling, enablement, and program design. Affiliates, creators, and the long tail of referrers stay in the program, but they already run on Dub and your job there is to keep it healthy and automated. You'll start as a team of one with lifecycle, product marketing, growth engineering, sales, and finance behind you, and you're expected to bring the plan, not wait for one: a point of view on which partners matter, what gets them to commit, and how we make them successful.
Compensation will be based on experience.
Ideally, you'll have:
- 5+ years in partnerships, channel, marketing, or business development at a B2B SaaS company, with at least some of those years recruiting, closing, and growing agency partners
- Partner-sourced revenue you grew and can walk us through step by step; you've carried a number, or something close to it, and liked it
- Full-stack range: you've written the pitch, built the deck, run the webinar, closed the deal, onboarded the partner, and chased the payout issue
- Program design instincts, meaning you've built or materially changed tiers, incentives, attribution, and payout mechanics and understand the tradeoffs between generous commissions, margin, and partner quality
- Operational discipline: a clean CRM, a real pipeline, honest forecasts, and dashboards you built yourself or using a partner platform like Dub or PartnerStack
- An AI-native way of working, with workflows you've built for prospecting, research, enablement content, and reporting so one person can run what used to take a small team
- A clear view of what we're building and why agencies should care, with bonus points if you're a beehiiv user, have run a newsletter for a client, or have worked inside an agency yourself
What you'll be responsible for:
In your first six months, expect roughly 65% partner marketing: attracting new partners to the program, and closing, and growing agency partners, 25% enabling and supporting the partners already in the program, and 10% program design, reporting, and the operations that keep attribution and payouts clean. This will likely shift as we continue to grow.
Recruit and close agency partners
- Validate the partner ICP, get your messaging, assets, and story in order: this may be newsletter studios, ghostwriting shops, email marketing agencies, media consultancies, and the agencies that already recommend beehiiv, but your experience and perspective will determine this.
- Build the market to attract these partners, prospect, pitch, and close them, and get each new agency to its first referred customer fast. Spend 1:1 time with the high value ones and build the content and experience to offer value 1:many for the others.
- Design the offers that make agencies move their clients: migration support, client discounts, co-branded pages, white-label collateral, and commercial terms that make beehiiv the default recommendation.
- Run the relationships with our top agencies: regular check-ins, QBRs with the biggest, joint pipeline reviews, and co-selling with enterprise sales when an agency brings in a large client.
Market the program
- Own the program's positioning, the partner pages, and the recruiting campaigns that bring in the right agencies.
- Produce the enablement that makes partners productive: playbooks, trainings, case studies, and the monthly partner update with lifecycle.
- Show up where agencies are: communities, events, podcasts, and the partners' own channels.
Activate and support partners
- Own onboarding and activation so new partners convert quickly and stalled partners get a reason to re-engage.
- Work with our Support team so they are the first line of support on tracking, payouts, and terms, more complex issues are escalated to you, and then pull in growth engineering and finance when something more significant breaks.
- Keep the affiliate and creator side healthy and automated: tiers, bonuses, attribution rules, payout accuracy on Dub, and compliance with the program terms.
Own the numbers and the program design
- Report regularly on partner-sourced and partner-influenced MRR, conversion lag, activation rate, 90-day partner retention, and cohort LTV against our other channels.
- Use what the data says to change incentives, tiers, and where you spend your time.
What success looks like
A year in, agencies are a channel we plan around, not a line item.
- Partner-sourced MRR is up materially and growing quarter over quarter
- There’s a consistent stream of agencies moving their clients to beehiiv, and the playbook that got them there is well defined
- We have a good sense of our partner ICP, and where to find them. We know how to align incentives with our partners, and how to help each other be successful
Why this role might be for you
- You’d rather build a program than inherit one. You’re energized by standing up the motion yourself, doing the partner marketing, ops, and outreach hands-on, and earning the case for the team that comes next.
- You know the agency world. You’ve sold to agencies, sold through them, and kept them active. You understand what makes an agency partner productive and what makes one go quiet.
- You move without a brief. Give you a channel that works but hasn’t scaled, and you’ll figure out what matters, set your own priorities, and start executing.
Why this role might not be for you
- You want to run a program, not build one. There's no partner marketer, partner ops, or SDR waiting for you yet. You'll do that work yourself initially
- Your partner experience is only alliances, marketplaces, or affiliates. This role is about agencies: selling to them, selling through them, and keeping them productive.
- You need a brief before you can move. You'll take a channel that works but isn't yet big, decide what matters, and go.
