Are you an experienced Project Manager who thrives on delivering change, driving improvements and working with stakeholders across a diverse business?
We're looking for a proactive and organised Project Manager to join our team at Biffa, playing a key role in delivering business change and transformation projects across the organisation.
In this varied role, you'll manage projects from initiation through to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time, within budget and to the required quality standards. Working collaboratively with teams across the business, you'll lead project delivery, manage stakeholders and ensure effective governance, reporting and controls are in place.
You'll also play an important role in ensuring projects are successfully embedded into the business, supporting a smooth transition into day-to-day operations.
This is a home-based role that will involve travel across the UK, including occasional overnight stays.
Your core responsibilities
- Lead and deliver business change and transformation projects, defining objectives, scope, deliverables and project plans to ensure successful delivery.
- Manage project governance, budgets and reporting, including risks, issues, dependencies, change requests and key milestones.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, facilitate workshops and engage stakeholders to drive collaboration and achieve project outcomes.
- Prepare and present project updates to senior stakeholders, highlighting progress, risks and key decisions.
- Support operational readiness, training and the successful handover of projects into business-as-usual operations.
Here's what we require
- A recognised project management qualification, such as PRINCE2, APM or equivalent, with a minimum of 3 years' experience in a similar role.
- Experience delivering a range of projects, ideally including IT transformation, operational improvements, compliance, infrastructure or property-related initiatives.
- Strong knowledge of project governance, reporting and documentation, including RAID logs, PIDs, business cases and project closure processes.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects, identify and escalate risks, and facilitate workshops, including lessons learned sessions.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and presentation skills, with the ability to influence and engage colleagues at all levels, including senior leadership.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including MS Project, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams.
- A full UK driving licence and willingness to travel nationwide as required.
