Head of Internal Product, Systems & Creative Operations
About Fieldtrip
Fieldtrip is a network that brings together small, specialised agencies, built around a belief in human craft. We’re a tight-knit team of global creatives: exceptional people doing exceptional things, solving bigger problems than we did yesterday
We are growing fast. The delivery org is scaling hard. And operations need someone who can build the systems that hold all of that together without breaking. We’re looking for a person to build an agency operations function that works like a product team.
The thinking behind this role
We think agency operations can learn a lot from the product world.
The systems people rely on should be intuitive, low-friction, and enjoyable to use. They should keep getting better through observation, feedback, facilitation sessions and iteration.
We believe systems taste, judgment, and an understanding of human behaviour are invaluable, and that’s the thinking we want to build this function around.
This is a full-time, fully remote position that allows you to work from anywhere.
What you'll do
Building the team and defining how the function works: from gathering requests to assigning ownership and maintaining what we build.
Understanding where teams lose time, context, or clarity, and turning those findings into a focused roadmap and clear requirements.
Building and improving internal tools, workflows, and custom products alongside operators and developers.
Deciding what to share across agencies and where different ways of working should remain.
Owning what happens after launch: adoption, reliability, and continued improvement.
What we're looking for
You absorb context like a sponge: You’re obsessively curious, empathetic, and good at helping people articulate problems they struggle to explain. You understand the need behind a feature request.
You are micro-interaction oriented. You notice unnecessary friction and know how to make complex systems feel simple without overlooking the exceptions.
You build things that last. You think about adoption, scale, and what someone else will need to maintain your work.
You can bring people with you. You give clear direction, develop others, and help teams think differently about how they work.
You are AI nuanced: you deeply understand AI; what’s its great for and where it fails; and know how to use it extremely effectively.
Relevant experience
A background in product management or product design would translate well. Agency or creative production experience is a strong plus, as is experience building and leading a small team.
Why this role
You’ll work directly with founders to define a different way of doing agency operations. We’re investing heavily in this, including custom product development, and you’ll have room to test ideas, challenge our assumptions, and build the team around the work.
Why join us?
Unlimited Time Off & Sick Days
Flexible hours
Fully remote
Opportunities to travel and spend time with our teams around the world.
Show us something you’ve built or helped shape.
Share one or two examples, including something made with AI. Who used it? What became easier? What did you change after launch? A short demo is welcome.
We’re especially interested in what happened six months later.
