The position works at the intersection of business and technology, with an emphasis on capability modeling, architecture analysis, requirements traceability, solution planning, and architecture decision support.
The successful candidate will be able to structure complex or ambiguous problems, collaborate across business and technical teams, and translate analysis into clear, decision-ready recommendations and work products.
Key Responsibilities
- Elicit, analyze, document, and validate business, technical, non-functional, and architecturally significant requirements.
- Analyze current-state processes, capabilities, systems, applications, technologies, and integrations to identify gaps, risks, dependencies, and improvement opportunities.
- Develop and maintain business and technical capability models and map capabilities to business outcomes, requirements, enterprise standards, systems, and modernization initiatives.
- Establish and maintain traceability among business needs, capabilities, requirements, architecture standards, decisions, and solution components.
- Support the development of current-state and future-state architecture views, solution plans, assessments, process flows, system diagrams, and related architecture artifacts.
- Contribute to enterprise architecture standards, principles, procedures, and governance processes, including materials for architecture reviews and decisions.
- Conduct research, gap analysis, impact analysis, and alternatives analysis and develop evidence-based recommendations.
- Facilitate stakeholder discussions and collaborate with architects, technical specialists, business stakeholders, project leaders, and vendors to resolve questions and advance work toward decisions.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, information systems, computer science, engineering, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Five or more years of experience in business analysis, systems analysis, enterprise analysis, technology consulting, solution planning, or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience eliciting, analyzing, documenting, and managing complex business and technical requirements.
- Experience performing current-state, future-state, gap, impact, or alternatives analysis.
- Experience establishing traceability among business needs, requirements, processes, systems, capabilities, or solution components.
- Demonstrated ability to structure ambiguous problems and develop clear, evidence-based conclusions and recommendations.
- Excellent analytical, critical-thinking, facilitation, and written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with both business and technical audiences.
- Experience working with cross-functional teams in Agile or iterative delivery environments and using tools such as Jira and Microsoft 365.
- Experience supporting enterprise, business, solution, application, data, or technology architecture initiatives.
- Experience with business or technical capability modeling, capability-based planning, or current-state and future-state architecture models.
- Experience supporting architecture standards, solution plans, architecture decision records, or formal governance processes such as an Architecture Review Board.
- Experience with architecture and knowledge-management tools such as Sparx Enterprise Architect, Prolaborate, Visio, or Confluence, particularly in healthcare, Medicaid, government, or another regulated environment.
