The listing
Side is expanding its freelance linguist pool and is looking for experienced English to Spanish (EU) linguists with strong skills in translation, proofreading, and machine translation post-editing (MTPE).
If you’re passionate about video games, experienced in localization, and interested in joining our network of freelance linguists for future collaboration opportunities, we’d love to hear from you.
Responsibilities:
- Translate and/or post-edit video game content, including UI, dialogue, narrative, help text, and marketing materials.
- Proofread and QA localized text to ensure accuracy, consistency, and cultural authenticity.
- Collaborate remotely with Side Localisation project management and linguistic teams.
Requirements
- Native-level Spanish (EU) and excellent English.
- Minimum 3 years of professional experience in localization, ideally with video game content.
- Familiarity with MTPE workflows.
- Proficiency in memoQ preferred.
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and genuinely enthusiastic about gaming.
- Must be able to receive payment in Japanese Yen (JPY).
- Please include your standard rates in JPY for translation, proofreading, and MTPE in your application.
- As part of our selection process, candidates will be required to complete a short, unpaid translation and MTPE trial.
