The listing

Antora Energy delivers affordable, reliable energy to industry, data centers, and the grid. Our thermal batteries turn low-cost electricity into always-on heat and power, without supply-constrained critical minerals or multi-year construction timelines.

Position Summary

Antora is hiring a Director of Grid Policy to lead regional and state-level regulatory advocacy on transmission, interconnection, and resource adequacy issues that are critical to the commercial success of Antora's long-duration storage and 24/7 energy products. This person will manage high-level negotiations and policy advocacy with RTOs, public utility commissions, and state legislatures, partnering closely with Antora's policy team and the energy commercial team (led by the Director of Energy) to ensure Antora's technology receives accurate, favorable regulatory treatment as the company scales into new products, states, and RTOs.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Lead advocacy and stakeholder/regulator negotiations on transmission interconnection, resource adequacy, ELCC, microgrid, and long-duration storage policy issues across multiple RTOs and states.
  • Represent Antora in RTO stakeholder processes, FERC proceedings, and state PUC/legislative engagements (e.g., SPP, CAISO, and other RTOs as Antora expands).
  • Partner with the energy commercial team to ensure Antora's storage and 24/7 energy products are accurately valued (RA/ELCC) so customers receive full value and are willing to pay accordingly.
  • Develop and drive policy proposals in coordination with other clean energy stakeholders, building coalitions where interests align.
  • Track and respond to relevant FERC rulemakings/orders (e.g., large-load interconnection 205 orders) and state proceedings (e.g., SB 943 in California).
  • Collaborate with and support the head of regulatory and state affairs, who will remain engaged across these issues as the portfolio scales.

Key Qualifications

  • 8–12+ years of specific experience in transmission, interconnection, and/or resource adequacy policy
  • Demonstrated experience leading advocacy in an RTO, ISO, or FERC proceeding.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to political, regulatory, and policymaker audiences.

Additional Qualifications Desired

  • Experience with storage procurement and resource adequacy or ELCC proceedings in any jurisdiction.
  • Familiarity with long-duration energy storage procurement policy design.
