About the role

We’re looking for an Associate Scientific Director to co-lead a global, exciting, and fast-paced publications team in multiple sclerosis. You will partner with global clients on high-impact publications and publications strategy, plus work as part of a larger, cross-functional publications, medical affairs, and knowledge transfer global account team. Overseeing mid-level writers is an important part of the role - we have a passion for developing people and we hope you do too! Neurology experience is an advantage, but extensive publications experience and motivation for a new role is more important. This is a great opportunity to take the next step into senior account leadership, build deep relationships with clients, and lead a large, supportive, fun team.

 

Here's what you'll do:

As an Associate Scientific Director, you will be responsible for accurate and high-quality scientific content across your workstream. You will be a senior scientific leader of a well-established team and will partner with the CS lead to mentor and review work and enable high-quality delivery to grow the business. You will develop your own content on high-impact projects, and oversee, support, and motivate a global team of medical writers to do the same. You will facilitate strong client and author relationships that enable you to make great, strategy-driven suggestions. You will lead client and author calls and scientific meetings. You will have a growth mindset and work with the agency leadership on account growth and innovating our client offerings. The role offers opportunities to be a partner and trusted advisor to the client, with some travel for client meetings and events.

The Associate Scientific Director will report to the Senior Scientific Director or VP, Scientific Services and will line manage junior members of the medical writing team.

 

About you:

 

To succeed you will have:

  • Extensive experience working in a medical writing role, including publications, within a medical communications agency environment.
  • Experience writing across a broad range of publications deliverables and formats for a variety of medical audiences.
  • Experience reviewing and overseeing other writers, ideally including line management.
  • Growing leadership skills and a desire to lead a global team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with colleagues, clients and external experts.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, work to deadlines and juggle multiple projects.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in quality control.
