The listing

Blue Rose Research helps Democrats win elections and advance progressive causes. We work with campaigns in battleground races up and down the ballot and major Democratic, progressive, and advocacy organizations across the country to produce the research and build the tools they use to decide what to say and where to spend.

We produce opinion research at a scale unmatched in politics, put it directly in decision-makers’ hands, and build tools on top of that data that we distribute widely across the progressive ecosystem. You’ll be joining a team of decorated engineers, data scientists, and political analysts who have quietly helped shape how the progressive ecosystem communicates for years.

We are hiring a new product manager for our team. You will own a major piece of our research infrastructure and a new polling product we’re taking to market this year. You’ll need to understand the users, set the roadmap, lead execution with engineering and data science, launch, measure, and improve. Alongside all of this, AI has accelerated what we’re able to do, the products we’re able to build, and the speed at which we work, and you’ll be expected to help keep us on the cutting edge.

Your ultimate objective will be helping Democrats win the 2026 midterms and laying the groundwork for a successful presidential election in 2028. Timelines are tight, the work changes week to week, and the problems are often ambiguous.

We offer a competitive salary, medical, dental, and health benefits, and a work environment that will support your differences. While the work is remote, we do have an office in NYC and a number of folks who work in-person regularly – both in NYC and at shared workspace meetups in DC. Most of our work happens on East Coast time.

You will:

  • Own the vision, strategy, roadmap, and measurable outcomes for your product area.
  • Spend time with Democratic decision-makers and internal Blue Rose teams, conducting the user research that drives what we build next.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, data scientists, and our research team, writing the specs and development tasks that take products from conception to launch.
  • Demo new features to clients, build product marketing materials, and help drive technical partnerships with other firms in the Democratic ecosystem.
  • Prototype with coding agents and AI tools to accelerate discovery, analysis, and product definition, and make smart calls about where the latest technology belongs in your roadmap (and where it doesn’t).
  • Develop a deep understanding of the progressive political ecosystem and the unique needs of campaign professionals.

Our ideal candidate likely:

  • Has 2+ years of product management experience in a high-performing product environment, like a high-growth startup, a large technology company, or another organization with rigorous product practices.
  • Has owned a software product or substantial product area from discovery through launch and iteration, with specific examples of decisions made and measurable outcomes achieved.
  • Can reason about data models, APIs, AI systems, and rough feasibility and cost before validating with engineering, but a software engineering background is not necessary.
  • Actively experiments with AI tools and has built useful AI-assisted workflows, even if they have not formally managed an AI product.
  • Communicates clearly in writing, demos, and rooms with both engineers and political decision-makers.
  • Is energized by ambiguous problems — translating “help win elections” into product bets and learning loops, without a clean quarterly metric to steer by.
  • Is motivated by Blue Rose Research’s mission and interested in learning the progressive political ecosystem. Prior political or civic-tech experience is welcome but not required.

We don’t expect every applicant to have expertise in every area listed above. We encourage you to apply even if your experience doesn’t perfectly match the description. Many of our team members have taken an unusual path to get to where they are today, and our unique and diverse perspectives make us more effective. We also believe strongly in our team’s ability to learn and grow. Join us!

The salary range for this position is $110,000 - $210,000 annually, commensurate with experience.

Candidates must be authorized to work lawfully in the United States.
