In ALTEN we are seeking a Front Suspension Design Engineer to lead the redesign of front suspension systems for next-gen electric vehicles. You will focus on transitioning from transverse leaf springs to coil-over spring architectures, ensuring compatibility with steering, driveline, and chassis systems. This role requires a strong background in mechanical design, package integration, and durability analysis, with a hands-on approach to solving complex engineering challenges.
🔧 Key Responsibilities:
- Develop conceptual and detailed designs for front suspension systems, including subframe and wheel-end components.
- Perform package studies to ensure compatibility with steering, driveline, and chassis interfaces.
- Evaluate trade-offs between carryover, modified, and new designs, focusing on cost, mass, durability, and serviceability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams (chassis, driveline, thermal) to align designs with vehicle-level requirements.
- Document assumptions, risks, and interfaces to support decision-making.
- Lead design reviews and present technical recommendations to stakeholders.
Requirements
✅ Required Skills & Qualifications:
- 5+ years of experience in suspension/chassis design (automotive or EV industry).
- Expertise in CATIA V5/3DEXPERIENCE (mandatory for surface, assembly, and drafting).
- Experience with durability analysis, ride & handling, and torque steer mitigation.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in fast-paced, multidisciplinary teams.
- Fluent English (technical communication with global teams).
- Basic management skills: Ability to mentor junior engineers, coordinate tasks, and manage small projects.
🌟 Nice-to-Have:
- Experience with EV architectures or electrified driveline systems.
- Knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing).
- Familiarity with simulation tools (ANSYS, ADAMS, MATLAB/Simulink).
